Hello! I have a Power Shot SD400. I was wondering

The camera will only shoot up to one minute in "Fast Frame Rate" mode. You should press the function button and use the left/right buttons to switch it to "Standard". This will allow you to shoot until the card is full.

Dropped my canon powershot sd400, now it won't work fine

Hi there, there is two possibilities. The first one is to check the lens barrier covers at the front of the lens are opening correctly. If the front cap is dented in any way it may prevent them from opening fully when switching the camera on. If this is the case, you may be able to manually assist the cover by gently pushing them open with something soft like a cotton tip. This wont fix the problem but may temporarily allow you to use the camera. The other possibility, is that the shutter assembly inside of the lens has been damaged. If you gently shake the camera you may be able to see something shifting across the image on the screen or even when looking through the front of the lens itself. If this is the case you would need to have a service centre replace the lens for you. The same applies for the front barrier however that repair would be much cheaper. Best of luck!

Canon ixus 50 screen went into phsycadelic pattern

take it apart ie take the battery out, the memory card out and put it back together putting the battery back in last and try and turn it back on, if that does not help then I would get in touch with Canon and see if you can swap it or get it repaired via warranty if its still under warranty.

If you have had it less then 3 months you may be able to take it back to the shop where you got it from ( whether its online or physically at a store ) and see if you can get a replacement.

I LOST THE DRIVER CD-ROM OF MY CANON POWERSHOT SD400?

You shouldn't need a driver unless you're using Windows 98 or older OS. If this is the case, go to the following Canon webpage and select your operating system in the "Drivers/Software Selection" block:
http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=SupportDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=224&modelid=11158#DownloadDetailAct

But also highly recommend you see the following blog article, as it describes the use of a card reader as a much easier, faster, and less error prone way to download your photos. In fact there are several important reasons discussed in the article for using a card reader vice downloading from the camera. USB Card readers are also very inexpensive these day, with cost virtually not an issue:

I bought a 4g SDHC card for my camera canon powershot sd400.

Well, first of all, I'm not exactly an expert on this, so please don't rely solely on my response.

It's possible that it needs an SD card, not an SDHC card. SDHC cards are high capacity, and some cameras just aren't able to use them because they're set up for the plain SD cards. Does it say what kind it needs in the manual? I think, if it's an older camera, I'm not sure what age exactly, they can't use SDHCs. Like I said, I'm not an expert, so you might want to get more info, if you can. Hope this helps.

We dropped our canon ixus 50 digital camera and lens jammed

You didn't mention what exactly is the problem. But please review the posts on the following blog, as they cover the most likely problems to result from a dropped camera to include lens errors, shattered LCD's, and non-starting cameras:

Only black spots on screen I dropped it

It seems that the LCD screen is cracked. You can find replacement screens for CANON cameras here:

Smoke fume from canon sd400

You should send the camera with the battery for service to find out if there is a defect on any internal circuit boards, or if the fault is actually the battery. There is no reliable way for you to determine this yourself, unless you have the proper setup and training to service these cameras.

SD400 LCD Screen White after Replacement

There are a number of possible common faults that can cause the screen problem that you are describing.

It is possible that the new replacement screen is defective, or there is a defect in the ribbon cable, or the sockets are not making proper contact, or there is a cold solder connection at the socket or on the circuit board, or the driver circuits on the circuit board have a failure.

The service tech would try another screen, or ribbon cable (if changeable), or the circuit board to locate the defect. Once he finds the defective board, he will leave in the new replacement.

These cameras are serviced by modular approach.

Upon turning on the canon

See this link. Canon has issued a world wide service advisory about the CCD image sensor in several models of cameras. If they determine that this is the problem (and your symptoms indicate it is), they will repair your camera at no cost, regardless of warranty status.

White screen when taking pictures in daylight

Go to the menu screen for LCD contrast and adjust, it sounds like it is to high. Kinda like a back light for a plasma screen.

Pull out your memory card, and find the little gray slide switch, if it is away from card connection it is locked, slide switch (little gray slide switch) toward the card connection. This will unlock your memory card.

Hi. My Canon Powershot sd400

Hi!
You have to unlock your memory card. All memory cards have this small lock mechanism on the side.

f32bb83.gif

Make sure that the slider is on the UNLOCK position. If it's already on the UNLOCK position and you are still getting the same error message, try to set it to LOCK, then set it back to UNLOCK position.

I hope that helps.

Good luck and have a nice day!
