Camera will not turn on and have a new battery...
HiI believe you have short circuit in main pcb.(dc/dc vonvertor---power control circuit) The cause are two thing either loosen screw running around or bent memory pin short. It will be quite easy to repair. Your local repair shop would charge around $65 to 215 usually depend on what they really want to charge. Thanks and kindly regard!
My digital prints have suddenly lost their
HiI suspect where brought repair shops were not capable of handle that problem. Usually focus problem doesn't occur unless you impact, drop, or from the beginning of your purchase which sometime canon product have problem of focus alignment. Well, If you have extra lens, then you can check it out that your body bad, or the lens bad. If you can check it out, I will help you more. (probably they don't have adjustment software for focus alignment)
My Canon Rebel EOS autofocus
It could well be the lens, take it off and clean the contacts on the lens and body. Other suggest about this problem... first in manual or auto focus mode does
the green in focus confirmation light come on in the lower right corner
of the viewfinder? Are you shooting in One Shot-AF, have you selected
an Auto Focus Point are your pictures in focus?
If that green confirmation light comes on then the picture will be in
focus. a few things that will mess up focus are little or no contrast.
No contrast like huge expanses of water, sky, glass or infinity will
render a auto focus system near useless. Something that is good is that
you haven't said anything about error codes which is good. These
questions my sound lame but ask yourself this when was the last time I
cleaned the lens (Front Element) use a lens cloth for this and huff on
it if a little moisture is needed. Do you change lenses often and when
was the last time you checked your sensor for dirt?
If you have had the
lens off you should check the rear lens element for finger prints or
oil. A dirty rear lens element will cause everything to look as if it's
shot in a dream world. Check your camera sensor buy taking a (manual)
focus shot of a piece of clear blue sky download it to the computer
increase the size to 100% and check out the blue for dirt. A camera
that's two years old and used "normally" may need the sensor cleaned.
But go back to this infocus light if it's coming on and the pictures are
out of focus then you have another problem as in dirt.

I cannot get my new laptop to recognize my canon
Best fix for this is to purchase a Card Reader and step around downloading from the camera. A card Reader is looked at by the computer as an external storage device. You place the memory card into the card reader and down load from there. Don't forget to stop or safely disconnect or eject before removing your memory card. Once you have placed the memory card back into the camera Format the memory card to give the camera a fresh clean surface to work with again.
What is happening is that the firmware of the camera is no longer compatible with the "new" software from the computer.
Even though you may not have updated the software in the computer if it's hooked to the Internet then sometimes there is auto updated and these are what sometimes causes the problem with incompatibility.
Also if you haven't updated the camera Firmware now would be a good time to look see what Canon has to offer as free updates in Firmware for your camera it's a free update.
I have a Canon EOS
I hope you have solved this problem if not there is two things that have happened to me one was that I had unlocked the lens and it turned a little which shut off the communications between the camera ad lens. The other is where the gold contacts between the camera and lens became slightly dirty with a hazy this is easily fixed with a DIY. using a pencil eraser gently polish the contacts between the camera and lens both sets of contacts, be careful not to get dirt into the camera or lens when you are doing this. Don't use a puffer or any air.
I just got my Rebel
You just got the camera? You do realize this camera was manufactured in 2005? Anyway, this model does not have "live view" so you cannot see the image as you can on a point-and-shoot camera.
Camera flashes error code 01,
Try to clean the lens contact both on the camera and the lens.
If it doesn't work, do a firmware update of your camera.
If it is still not resolved, contact Canon directly.
Hope this helps.

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

Receiving no response in over a month to my query, I assume my suggestion to use a card reader solved the problem.
Hi I got quick question.

Err 99
Err 99 could mean several different things, such as... Memory Card
Lens
Lens contacts....
A few things you can try.
Remove the memory card an enable "shooting with out memory card" and see if you still get the error. If it works your memory card is bad.
Try another lens if you can
Clean the lens contacts with a pencil eraser (be careful not to get eraser dust in the camera body or in the lens)
I have heard Canon recommend upgrading the camera's firmware (go to Canon's website to downloadthe latest firmware and follow Canon's instructions for the upgrade).
I saved the worst for last, Err 99 could be related to the shutter failing which would mean a trip to Canon.
Good Luck
I am using the Rebel
Without seeing an example it's hard to say. My guess is you either are not getting a proper focus, are you using auto focus or manual focus?
Or more likely you are experiencing camera shake, which is not holding the camera steady enough for the shutter speed (a rule of thumb is with your 55mm lens you need a shutter speed of at least 1/60th of a second). And you still need to try to hold your camera steady. If your not in a well lit area then your flash should prevent camera shake.
Hope this helps

Look at your memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.
Canon eos 350d error 05,
is it also trying to release the flash when this happens? If so try and manoeuvre the flash a little by hand as it try's to open. once it opens its usually fine thereafter.

The most likely thing is that you have motion blur in your prints from
using too slow a shutter speed. Other possible problems are too wide an
aperture, bad focus, or something in your workflow that's horking the
images.
Blurry pictures always result from too slow of a shutter speed. (This allows camera-shake or subject movement to be captured; thus your blur.) You can solve this by using a faster exposure time (which probably
requires more light, either via higher ISO, wider aperture, or a
flash/strobe of some kind).
Sometimes, an out-of-focus picture can appear blurry. If that's the case, pay close attention to your focus points, or use a narrower aperture to increase depth-of-field.
You get shutter speed by allowing more light to hit the sensor. This is
done in one of three ways - keep the shutter open longer (the opposite
of faster shutter speed), open the shutter wider (the aperture), or make
the sensore more sensitive (the ISO).
Usually, the main reason why you cannot get non-blurry photos is because
the kit lens cannot open wide enough. The usual recommendation is to
either use the flash (which can give awful resutls), or buy another lens
- like the 50mm f/1.8 lens. That can open very wide, and you can then
take these shots without flash.
Test it.
When taking a picture is
Check if something is blocking the in-built flash to pop up or if it is stuck.
If the flash is stuck press the flash pop-up button and try pulling it up simultaneously.
