Iphoto not recognising canon eos350d

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use iPhoto or any other photo cataloging program.

Canon Digital Rebel XT auto focus

Auto Focus does not determine exposure. Only sharpness. "Wrong" exposure could be due to the metering mode being set in Spot Metering. Set it back to Evaluative Metering which may improve the overall even exposure of your shots. Test your shots in full auto or P mode. M (Manual) mode will require you to check the exposure setting manually (you can see the indicator in the viewfinder when you half-press the trigger)

Err 05 message

Impact damage to flash or spillage (usually something sticky like Coke) around the pivots (the two places at the back on either side that the flash attaches to the top cover). Sometimes a small amount of water will cause the screw on the release side of the flash that it pivots on to rust, causing the flash to freeze. Need to take it apart and clean (I use Windex) and lube (grease, not oil!) the pivots. Scrape the rust off the screw with an Xacto knife and then cover with grease so it won't rust again. Just did one with this symptom today

CAnon 350D SLR Camera got exposed to water how do I fix it

You will need to take to a camera repair shop asp to have any chance of recovery, the camera must be completely dismantled and cleaned, but the odds of success will be low and expensive.

Err 05

In my case, I borrowed a camera and when I got it back, err 05 appears. I've located a bit of old orange juice which sticked one of the sensors - you can see the sensors when flash is popped out.

My Canon Rebel XT shows

Welcome to Fixya
Err 99 could means several different things, such as... Memory Card, Lens or Lens contacts....

Here's what you can try:

Remove the memory card an enable "shooting with out memory card" and see if you still get the error. If it works your memory card is bad. Try another lens if you can. Clean the lens contacts with a pencil eraser (be careful not to get eraser dust in the camera body or in the lens). Worst case scenario is, Err 99 could be related to the shutter failing which would mean a trip to Canon.

My eos350d camera has stopped

Annmelba,

I think you'll find the EOS to be a fairly durable series. Just to cover your bases, I would clean the inside battery contacts with a Q-tip and some alcohol. That said, I suspect you may have to take your camera to an authorized repair facility - a quote should run you about $60 if the device is out of warranty and depending on the nature of the problem, the repair could cost considerably less than a new camera.

Thank you.

When I turn on camera the red light comes on,but I can view pics...that area is black?

I recommend you to call Canon on this. Call this number and have them see if they can help. 1-800-652-2666 They may want to have a look at it and then will give you an estimate (they will pay postage both ways if they repair it, otherwise you have to pay the return postage, if you decide not to repair it at all) which you can turn down or opt to upgrade should the camera cost too much. They can give a great upgrade price on a completely repaired camera of your choice of what is in stock. These are called a refurbished cameras, which means it comes with everything as if it was new. Also a warranty, may depend on the model.
