I have a an35n ultra v1.1 motherboard I power on

Hello Phenom, Hi.... to properly run/test a motherboard, you need to make sure this parts are good with no doubt functioning. 1. the power supply, 2. Memory, 3. keyboard, 4. Processor with FAN 5. PC speaker(built on-board or the thumb speaker) and 6. monitor How to test. First remove all motherboard connections. Now reconnect the following. 1. make sure that the power supply 20/24 pin is connected properly to the motherboard (and please test this power supply before making connections. To test independently short green wire to ground and plug the unit. you should see the fan spin) 2. make sure that the 4 pin 12volt power connector is also plug in nice and tight. 3. clean the memory slot using a clean paint brush and the module (DDR/2) terminals (the contacts) using an eraser, 4. connect the keyboard, 5. make sure there is a PC speaker connected. 6. connect the power switch of the front panel, 7. Connect a monitor on the VGA port 8. Power on the PC. 8. Look at the keyboard lights 3 LED momentarily. num lock + caps lock + scroll lock and after several seconds 1 LED light, num lock only. If you reach this part you should also hear a beep. then the POST will appear. If you don't reach this part, start again from the top. do this several times. Still no response? you motherboard is bad.

I try starting up and i can't even get as far as

TWO things.

1.Power supply is going bad.
2.Electrolytic Capacitors on motherboard are bad.

Power Supply:
A weak power supply that has 1 or more capacitors that are failing, will have enough power to light all lights, spin fans, and even spin the harddrive in some cases.

But doesn't have enough power to make the Processor run.

A.ALL the lights for your computer use less than 1 Watt.
B.EACH fan uses 2 to 3 Watts.
C.A harddrive spinning in an endless loop uses about 2 Watts.

A Processor will use 55 to 125 Watts! Depends on what processor it is.

Capacitors going bad in a power supply will make a weak Voltage Rail.

Bad capacitors on motherboard:
Capacitors used around the Processor are Voltage Regulators. A Processor must have a Clean, Steady supply of DC Voltage. Processors have a VERY small tolerance range. Too little voltage they don't turn on or stay on. Too much they can burn up.

For information purposes, this link gives you more info on visual signs of failure for capacitors, on a motherboard.
(It is for information so that you may have it to diagnose your motherboard's capacitors. It is not advise to replace them from me.

CAUTION!!

It is - NEVER - advisable to open a computer power supply to work on it, Unless you have technical expertise at this.

Why?

Because those Electrolytic Capacitors are designed to hold a charge, and then suddenly release it. (Camera flash is a good example of capacitors being used)

They can hold a charge for Weeks, sometimes Months, after the power supply is unplugged from power!!

Should you open the power supply, and your fingers touch both terminals of a capacitor, it Can, and Will, release it's charge to YOU!

Should your fingers complete a circuit that, one or more, capacitors are in, they will release their charge to YOU!

Result? BAD shock to FATAL!

We at FixYa want you to be SAFE!

I just wanted you to have all information I can give you. A tech has to PROPERLY discharge the capacitors, before working on a component that contains them. I will Not detail out this procedure here.

Preferred method is to use a known, good power supply, put it in the computer, and see if this is the problem.

http://www.capacitorlab.com/visible-failures/index.htm

(BIOS doesn't come up.

Has nothing to do with the harddrive, therefore it isn't a bad harddrive, nor corrupted files in the Operating System.

BIOS is the first program to run on a computer. It's 64MB's in size. Very small. After BIOS recognizes all devices, and does a Ram Memory count, it turns the Processor on, and hands the computer over to the Operating System.

Your computer isn't even getting to BIOS, so it isn't bad Ram Memory sticks, nor bad Processor, nor Operating System. It's not enough power, or failing capacitors on the motherboard)

An35-400 just redlights when tries to bood bios.

Doesn't take much to ruin a processor by heating. Suggest you remove power cord, wear a wrist grounding strap or ground your hand on the bare metal of the case and take trhe heatsink/CPU fan off from the processor. Clean the processor top very well with cotton balls and isopropyl alcohol.

Clean the bottom of the heat sink the same way. Apply a good quality thermal compound in a thin, even layer. I use a business card to spread it out thinly and evenly.

Replace the heatsink/fan onto the processor, making certain the processor is inserted correctly in the motherboard.

Plug the fan wire into the motherboard into the small plgu marked CPU Fan.

Hook the cord back up. Turn on the power supply button on the back and start the computer. If you get the same message the processor was probably irreparably damaged the first time you got that message.

Wont start

Which wires do you mean? The wires for the reset and power buttons on the case? The pin arrangement is usually part of something called the front panel header, it's a series of pins for stuff like the power LED, HDD led, and speaker. The pin arrangement should be in your motherboard manual. If that's not what you're talking about please clarify. If you're in the Washington DC/Rockville MD area, please shoot me a line at Inovagent.

I think that you might be asking about latency timings... Try downloading NVIDIA's Performance software. If you search google with those two words you will likely find it. When you install it, look for system settings and whatever you can change there, will be all that your MoBo allows you to change.

My Bios not run more. My AN35N ultra is dead

find someone who has a computer that you can get on line with.
youll need a floopy drive on both your computer and the one your using, go to the manufactures support website and download the bios file for your motherboard to the floopy. then take the floopy and put it in your computer and start it up. it should download the bios to your system.
if you dont have floopy drives, you can use a usb drive if your systems are set up for usb, but your boot order also have to be setup to recognize the usb.
if this is an older computer you most likely have a floopy drive.
hope this fixes your problem.
would appreciate your leaving feedback for me
thanks.

Does anyone know where I can get a Schematic diagram for a Shuttle MV43 v3.1 Motherboard

If this was damaged 'In Transit' contact the company you bought it from and they may be able to supply you with a replacement. The damage was possibly due to bad packaging at their end or damage while the delivery company had it.
