P910a Touchscreen is not responding to inputs

Turn off your mobile. Wait until all the water in it dries up. Or better take it to a service station as early as possible.

Sony ericsson p910a cell phone

Hello. There's a special adhesive attached to the back of the touchscreen that allows it to be attached to the LCD screen. You will need to start prying it off the LCD screen very slowly, working from one corner and slowly peeling it back with the use of an x-acto knife, or other sharp-bladed knife. You must be very careful as it's very easy to permanently damage the LCD screen underneath. I suspect your touchscreen stopped working, hence the need to replace it. Good luck.

I cannot switch on Sony Ericsson P910a

Hello. Please remove the battery form your P910 for about 20-30 seconds, reinstall the battery and then try to turn it on. If the red light remains on, then there's internal damage to your circuit board that will need to be properly fixed by a qualified technician.

Touchscreen

I would like to ask a couple questions that might be of some use.

First, does the same issue occur when using the phone with the flip closed? That is, can you use the jog dial and keys on the flip properly?

If the phone works fine with the keypad and jog dial, then you should be able to try to recalibrate the touchscreen.

To re-calibrate the screen:

1. Select Applications tab
2. Select Control Panel
3. Select Device
4. Select Display or Screen
5. Follow the instructions on the screen.
6. Select Yes or No

Second, if you turn the phone off and on again, with the flip open, does anything load by itself, or does the touchscreen react as if something is being pressed?

This may indicate that there is a problem with the hardware.
It is possible to purchase a new touchscreen for under $100 from a few parts retailers such as http://cnn.cn .

It may also simply be a glitch or bug in the software or firmware OS. In this case, you can try a master reset or updating the firmware using Sony Ericssons update service (not compatible with Vista for the P910), or you could use a third party firmware utility such as from DaVinci etc.
If you choose any of the master reset, firmware or update options, you will lose ALL user data on the phone, so you should back it up before you proceed.

W595 circuit board digrams

Does it work with just the battery or just the power supply? May need a new battery as they do not last forever. It may also need a new powers supply. Test if it works for one but not the other as that is the key.

No power w595 sony ericson

Probably shorted the power supply, but may have only blown the fuse. If you have a manual find where that fuse is and replace it. If it is not the fuse, replace the power supply, and cord as it is not expensive and is worth a try. Unfortunately, you may have fried the mother board. Amazon sells one for less than 50 dollars and it is easy to replace if you follow the instructions. There is a chance you may fried the CPU which could be more expensive. The hard drive is not, but may have been damaged too. It's worth a try on all counts as Sony's are not cheap to reacquire and that accident is not covered by your warranty as something that happens under normal use.
