Canon EOS Rebel T3i Questions & Answers
Is there a good reference sheet for camera settings? For example, if I wanted to shoot a long exposure at night, what are the recommended range of settings for aperture, time of exposure, etc.?
There are dozens, perhaps hundreds of books with such suggestions, but I've found that even at night, the automatic settings on my Canon EOS Rebel are amazingly good. I recommend "The Joy of Photography", if it's still in print, by "The Editors of Eastman Kodak Company". An excellent old book that covers all the basics.
The nighttime pictures I've taken were done by setting the aperture to something mid-range, and letting the camera choose the time of exposure, and taking several pictures with different settings for "over" and "under".
How many number of shot I can make for canon t3i rebel
Most digital cameras can shoot 150.000 shots before the shutter becomes unreliable. If you take care your camera should do the same. The shutter is supposed the weakest part, because it is the only mechanical part in the camera.

Trying to download pics from computer and get error 31, but then camera automatically disconnects itself
Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa.

Liquid soap inside the screen
The soap is probably between the back light and the LCD itself, on one of the plastic Fresnel screens. You may be able to clean it off with Windex on a Q-tip. Remove back cover (can't give directions without knowing which model)
Focus lights are Dim on My 1100d
Remove black side cover (two screws) and rear cover and check the rear circuit board for a missing screw in the lower right corner. Find screw and replace. If it did not short out the circuit you should see the function return. Other, send to Canon for circuit replacement
