From your description, it appears that the camera may have received an accidental blow, or else there is some foreign matter (sand or suchlike) in the lens mechanism. I had this same failure. It could be two things, one you bumped the lens an knocked it off the track it rides on. Easier done than you think, or the motor has failed on the lens. You can try to take it apart as I did, but you need time an small tools to do it. It took me three hours to take apart, an two hours to get back together. Dont throw it away I you can fix it. Someone could fix most likely if that is it

There is only one thing I can think of. If it is not this perhaps your camera is defect. Your camera has a White balance setting. You can put it in Auto, Incand. Daylight, cloudy and Manual. Check if it is in something other than Auto. If so, put it in Auto, till you think you can improve the colours by putting it in a special setting.

You can delete the photos by formatting the memory, go to the camera's Menu and scroll through the settings to Format memory.
