It was working fine, now won't even turn on...any suggestions?

HP is making "disposable" printers. They have "repair kits" available but to repair a printer you need some quite advanced knowledge and practice so my best advice is that you should take it to an authorized HP service

I replaced all of the ink cassettes with Hp but the printer will not pick up the paper and print.

remove the paper draw, then open the back panel [should just flip open] check for jammed paper, reload paper draw with at least 1/4 inch of new paper, put back in,and retry printing. If theres still a problem, the printer usually tells you.Recheck yr printing settings

Printer is out of cyna color but only want to print black how to we override

You have to follow this steps: 1. Load paper in the tray. 2. On the File menu in your software application, click Print. 3. Make sure the printer you want to use is selected. 4. To change settings, click the button that opens the Properties dialog box. Depending on your software application, this button might be called Properties, Options, Printer Setup, Printer, or Preferences. 5. Change the paper orientation on the Layout tab, and paper source, media type, paper size, and quality settings on the Paper/Quality tab. To print in black and white, click the Advanced button, and then change the Print in Grayscale option. 6. Click OK. 7. Click Print or OK to begin printing

How do I open the ink container to replace the ink?

Are you asking where to open the unit to get the ink containers and print head accessible to replace the cartridges? Or are you trying to figure out how to fill a cartridge with aftermarket ink? To replace the cartridges themselves you must have unit on and on the left side where it says HP Office jet Pro etc. is actually the cover to the ink/head area open that and the head will automatically move over and allow access to the ink cartridges and the print head. To remove a cartridge just push in on it and it will click and disconnect. To install just push all the way in like removing until it clicks and attaches. As far as adding aftermarket ink, I am not sure that is advised as I know I used to do this until last time it ruined my print head and made a mess as it leaked out of head unit all over inside of printer which in turn leaked onto desk and then onto floor. But if you think it would be ok the specific instructions should be included with the refill kits as different cartridges have different areas needed drilling etc. to access ink well/tank. Hopefully this helps.

Upgrade your printer and continue to refill your own ink cartridges

I just had my HP 8600 document feeder fail. This problem part cannot be ordered for replacement, and to have it repaired will cost almost $200. Well a brand new one on sale is only $250. And better yet, upgrade to the HP Officejet Pro 8630, since HP will no longer be manufacturing the 8600. I have saved hundreds of dollars, refilling my own cartridges. I upgraded, after I learned that the newer model uses the exact same ink cartridges. So, I am on my third HP Printer, and I have purchased only one set of cartridges in 3 years. I have refilled my color cartridges at least 8 times. They need refilling more frequently than the black. (The black ink cartridge is twice the size.) In addition, I purchased a three year extended warranty for $20 or $30. If anything happens to this printer in that time, it will be replaced automatically, and I will not have to pay for shipping. In essence, I am in position to have used the same set of ink cartridges for 6 years. I only put my new cartridges in after I have refilled the empties. After the printer resets, I pull them out and put in the refills. So you see, my printer came with a set of cartridges, and I purchased one extra set, for resetting the printer after refilling the cartridges. I suggest to really control your costs, consider buying a quality printer, that will be good for years of service, add a service contract, and refill your own cartridges. If you print as much as I do, you are realize a significant savings in the cost of ink. I know that I have saved a minimum of $360. Add the cost of inconvenience and going to Walmart for refills, and you may be realizing a savings of $150 per year, just for refills. Good luck, and plan ahead.
