dont' worry about what the d-link site says. its because they haven't tested it. i got my dp-301u to work fine with my hp1020 on 2 different workstations with the following steps.
1. install printer locally via usb and test.
2. create a second printer as per the dlink manual creating a port. don't worry about the name as we will delete it.
3. once created go into the properties of the 2nd printer and change the port to something local - anything will do to free up the port.
4. go into the properties of the printer that was created in step 1. and change the port to that of the print server.
5. test print. should work fine.

Your print server has to have its own IP address. If you have your computer as 198.168.1.1 then your print server would be 198.168.1.2.
You cant have the same IP address on any 2 items on your network.
Print command accept but not printing

D-link 301u using windows vista
Primary solution is to enable all print services in Vista and XP. This is done through the control panel under Programs and Features or Add / Remove Programs. Enabled ALL print services, which is needed for LPR support.
What is the default ip for dp301u
It is 192.168.0.10

D-Link DP-301U Problem
It should be fine as long as it is in the range that the router can recognize and that it doesn't conflict with another IP address used on another device. Usually on the networks I design I keep the printers on higher IP address so that they can be managed on a certain range.
Is this the wireless print server?
What specifically do you mean by PJL printer block?
Problem with scan from print server
This unit does NOT officially support Samsung printers... but it will allow printing with some. It does NOT support multi-function printers features like scanning for any brand of multi-function printers.
