Configuration
The best way to set this access point is to connect your computer directly to the device via Ethernet, disble the wireless adapter temporarily on the computer. Since this is just an access point and not a wireless router, it is not capable of providing your computer with an IP address because it has no DHCP functionality.
The IP address you mentioned is the deafault IP address of the access point, there is a posibility that the default IP has been change.
Do a reset on the access point then assign an IP address manually on your computer(i.e 192.168.1.x x- bein any number from 1 to 254 except 50)
Access the AP using Internet Explorer or Firefox, type
http://192.168.1.50 on the address bar it should prompt you for a username and password(check you documentation for the default username and password for the access point)
How to make my wireless
acess your router
http://192.168.0.1
or
http://192.168.1.1
then user is admin
passowr dis bleank or admin
then selcet setup of nternet type is with static ip set ip and gateway.
also set security encryption key.
also enable advanced security.
then allow mec adreses of which u want to give internet.
DWL-2100AP
To use the
DWL-2100AP as an access point (repeater), You have to set it up on the repeater mode and type in the MAC address of the router. The best way to do this is to run the AP manager from the cd.

Reset
These things have a tendancy to brick themselves. I have 3 bricked ones right now.
You *can* try holding in the reset button before plugging in the power, and continuing to hold the reset button for a full 30 seconds. This *SHOULD* reset it completely back to factory defaults.
However, if it is in the "continual boot" cycle, as all 3 of mine are, the only way you *may* be able to un-brick it is with hardware modification and a JTAG cable. The modification includes soldering some jumpers, and building a cable (with circuits) to connect to the serial port of the AP.
If it is within the 3 year warranty period, get yourself another one. If it's outside the warranty period, ask yourself if it's worth the trouble for a $60 AP.
Connection
The software is simply too NEW for your computer (happens all the time) BUT you can get your computer upgraded at a local computer repair store.
Default gateway
When you ping the gateway with your computer it could not communicate with the gateway.
Assuming you are connecting via a network cable.
Either the network cable is broken or network card is faulty or it is configured incorrectly.
Make sure your TCP/IP address of your network card has the same TCP/IP address range as your gateway.
The 21ooap acess point confoguration
I think that you trying implement NAT on this wireless access point , if you got /24 mean you can use 192.168.16.1 - 192.168.16.254 range. This kind of router do have few steps to go basically you have to provide WAN settings that your up link information, then your Broadcast information such as SSID,DHCP,WEP.WPA,etc.
D-link dwl 2000AP
To reset, simply press the reset button with a pin/pencil. This will revert the IP address to 192.168.0.50, sub net 255.255.255.0
It will also set the admin name back to admin and password to blank
I can't answer other questions however.
Airplus xtreme g doesn't work
I have have this happen before with D-Link routers. Check your ac adaptor for power. If there is power to the adaptor, then the power supply in the router is gone and needs to be replaced.
Mine blew up unexpectedly and I replaced it with a linksys.
D-link dwl 2000AP
Turn on your AP and push reset button for 30 seconds with pen or any small things (little hole between the antena connector and RJ-45 LAN connector).
Set your laptop IP or PC that you will use to set the AP to 192.168.0.55 subnet 255.255.255.0 Then open your web browser, connect your PC Ethernet to AP Ethernet, remove any proxy setting from your browser temporary, and type 192.168.0.50 enter.
Username is: admin password: none (leave it blank).
Configuration problem
Hi,
Have you tried doing a reset, that is pressing on the recessed reset button (either at the rear or underneath)? Of course, this will also erase all user settings/configurations.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards.
Thank you for using FixYa.
Need major help
OK. First of of all, the only light that should stay solid on your router is the power light. All the others are activity lights. They show network traffic through the connections. Second, if you're going to power cycle the router it's a good idea to power cycle the modem as well. Just so you know, I know they sell and promote all kinds of wireless things for xbox 360 but it's best to run it with an ethernet cable. Better results. So, try this: Unplug your modem and router, wait about 60 seconds. When all the lights have come back on the modem (excluding the activity light ) plug in your router. See what happens and let me know.If this fixes your problem, please rate this as fixed. If it did not, then don't rate it yet. Just add a comment and I'll be glad to help you further. Thanks.
Access points
Hi,
Am using for the past 5 months a LinkSys WRT300N as master with 2 WRT54G as slaves (repeaters). Both the 54Gs are using 1 of the original antenna + a rooftop mounted directonal antenna. 1 of the 54Gs is installed at a computer shop inside a school campus, the master 300N is at an office (outside the campus, a block away) and the other 54G is installed at a student dorm (3 blocks away from the office).
One favorable aspect of the 54G is that it will accept a firmware replacement; Alchemy and Talisman bySveasoft and DD-WRT by Brain Slayer, ipv6 by EarthLink, and another by Sputnik. I found the first 2 with the most features, ease of installation and configure.
Hope this be of some help/idea. Post back how things turns up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards.
Cant access my D-link access point
Hi,
If settings of username and password are still at default, they are "admin" and 'leave it blank' respectively.
If these have been changed in the past, then you have no alternative but to do a hard reset (press reset button at the back or underneath) to restore everything to factory default. Of course this would remove all changes and settings that you have done including configuration.
Hope this be of some help. Post back how things are or should you need further information.
Good luck and kind regards.
