Dell HK395 Computer Speakers - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Lost controller. how to use or by pass on off swith
Solder a jumper wire across the back of the switch, this will bypass the switch and the speakers will always be turned on. Turn off the speakers by unplugging the power cord, or with the switch on the surge protector that I hope you have.

Crackling static noice
Hi Roovejet.
The capacitor 104 is 0.1uf ceramic has no reading with analogue multimeter in any range of ohms scale.
if it read any of ohms value ,it is bad.
please check the large electrolytic capacitors too and loose connection for the board and.if you have volume controllers clean it with alcohol or contact cleaners.
if your device is older than 5 years it is time to change all the electrolytic capacitors.its sound like foolish but it brings new life and same quality when your buying time to the sound system.
regards.

Left speaker not working
Hi Dellhelp,
this sounds like a defective volume switch to me. If you're handy with tools and have a soldering iron you can probably pick up a suitable replacement switch for $5 and spend 30 minutes installing it.
Or for around $20 on Ebay you could buy another working unit. I wouldn't really recommend spending much time or money trying to fix them and if you do buy another set you can keep your old ones for parts :)

Ihave hk395 subwoofer..but i dont have the satellite and a two speakers..it is possible to use it...if not were i can buy..
U can use the sub-woofer by plugging it separately with a normal 2 stereo speakers.. or ..use 2 speakers attached on it ..be sure they are powerfull enough to make a match ..(usually it is enough 10 watt )to plug t separately ..just take a look in the speaker configuration option of the driver..and change it in such a way that will allow you multiple out ..(you will see which one will be what ...even on a normal sound card with only 3 plugs ..The configuration you have to choose is probably 3=1 or so ...and will leave your pink for a microphone ..and the line in will turn in a out-let for the woofer ..Or if the woofer have inlets for the speakers and has a amplifier built in ..you can attach any speakers..In this case you can use teh normal speaker out ..and get the signal for the other speakers from the woofer ..In case they were separate ..and the woofer was only connected with the central ..use like I say ..a configuration on the sound manager (speaker configuration ) in such a way that you will be able to connect the speakers in normal green out and use regular 2 stereo ones..and attach the sub-woofer in the plug specified in the diagram ..usually for 3=1 or 4=1 it will change the blue line in into woofer out ..and will work In this case the speakers used in the green out have to be amplified separately (or have a built in amplifier like computer speakers have ).please ask if you didn't understood the procedure ..and please rate my answer

The left speaker (non-volume-control speaker) is
could be a problem of contacts. try cleaning the orange 3.5mm male jack that goes into the speaker. Grapefruit seed extract, lemon juice or metal cleaner should work. For the female end, in the speaker, a pipe cleaner should help. remember, a TINY amy of cleaner goes a long way. Then clean it all off.good luck.

My woofer is not working
sounds like the contact points on your 9 pin DIN connector are corroded. If carefully cleaning each pin sounds like too much work, a search on ebay for a male 9 pin mini-din might bring you joy. But THAT solution requires some soldering.
