Got these speakers from a friend who was moving. I
First of all please keep it in mind that the Speakers do not require any kind of drivers.
If you are getting the sound volume icon on the taskbar and if you are able to raise and lower the voice using the slider, make sure the mute box is not checked. Similarly check the if the applications Itune or WMP is not muted.
Make sure the drivers for your sound card are installed properly.
Press Windows key and the letter R
Type devmgmt.msc
It will open the device manager
In device manager look for Sound and game controller and make sure the sound card driver is installed properly

Need a driver for hk395 speakers to use with vista
You don't need drivers of any kind for your speakers. You only need drivers for your independant sound card or for the sound card on your motherboard to be able to get sound from your pc through your speakers. Check your sound card setup.
HK395 speakers problem with volume
What specific problem are you having?
Some have reported that squirting tuner cleaner into the back of the switch/ volume control will clear up some intermittent conditions. If the on/off switch on the back is defective you can jumper it to leave on full time but then you'd have to use a power strip or similar to turh it off.
Speaker cable installation
1. Check the orange multipin connector for bent or broken pins.
2. Make you have the subwoofer plugged in to a live power outlet.
3. Check the fuse on the circuit board inside the subwoofer.
4. Measure the output of the subwoofer power transformer. I think I remember it as being in the range of 12-24VAC. Inspect the rectifier diodes for signs of overload. measure the dc output of the diodes. I think I remember 18VDC.
5. Open the right speaker and verify the on/off switch is working.
6. New Egg sells a multitude of similar speakers in the $40 to $80 range.
Just want to use the subwoofer with my computer.
i have dont this, in order to do this you need a screwdriver and some wir cutters. fist unplug the subwoofer, the the right speaker with the knob has the controll unit inside of it so we need to open the right speaker, unplug the speaker fom the chip. (ONLY IF YOUR SURE YOU WANT THIS AS A STAND ALONE SUB) then you need to cut the solid black cord that lead to the other speaker. you can also cut the leads that went to the right speaker. undo the hot glue on the inside back of the speaker and gently pull out the funky master cord. you need to unplugh the chip that has the volume controll on it. once the cord is out you can reconnect teh chip to the master cord. i suggest mounting this chip to the top of your subwoofer. you can do this using a lot of hot glue or sticky tack. anthign that does not onduct electricty thats is tacky and wont daage that chipo you can use. and further question contact me at

My speakers are connected but there is no sound output.
it may be either your sound card, or the input of your speakers, you can chage your sound card in the pc (if that doesen't work then it's from the speakers) i don't recommend opening the speakers yourself, and trying a repair unless you have a minimum knowhow of electronics, try an electronics service place.
