Hey Robert, the blinking is usually the result of the transducer losing contact with the water.. As far as the screen getting hot.. that is not good.. do you have this unit mounted in dash? You can try holding in the zoom in/out buttons (+/-) as you push and release the power button. Hold the zoom keys until you hear a beep. If your hard restart is successful.
