Hi, Try the following: 1/ Make sure the power cord is securely plugged in at the base and that it's powered on ie: light is on and working etc.. 2/ Reset the telephone base. Unplug the electrical power. Wait for approximately 15 seconds, then plug it back in. Allow up to one minute for the cordless handset and telephone base to reset. 3/ Place the cordless handset in the telephone base for one minute to allow the cordless handset and base to synchronize. It appears that the one handset has become orphaned and must be de-registered and then re-registered. 1. To de-register the orphaned handset from the old base: When the orphaned handset says "Connecting..." or "Out of..." enter *331734 [menu] and it will soon beep and display "Not registered" 2. To register the new handset to your base: press the "Handset Locator" button on the base and hold it until the "in use" light comes on ( ~ 4 seconds ), then release the button and set the new handset into the base phone cradle. After ~ 30 seconds it will beep and display "Handset #" (next in sequence). 3: Note: the base handles a maximum of 12 handsets. If your system was fully populated ( ie, a handset is already # 12 ) you will have to clear all the handsets from the base and re-register them all in sequence. ( it is the only way to 'rescue' the places occupied by the lost handsets ). To clear the base of all registrations: 1. Press and hold the the "Handset Locator" button until the "in use" light lights and then starts to blink ( ~ 10 seconds ), release the button -- then press it again briefly while the "in use" light is still blinking. 2. The base will beep and all handsets that were registered will display "Not Registered" 3. There is a way to delete all calls in the Caller ID log. With the phone system in standby mode, press Menu/Select (key to the upper right of the arrow keys). Scroll (up/down arrows) to Caller ID log. Press Menu/Select again. Scroll to Del all calls and press Menu/Select. You should see a Delete all calls? Press Menu/Select to confirm. There is no corresponding way to delete all old speed dial or directory listings. Register SynJ SB67108 Handset How to register AT&T Synj SB67108 to new base unit SB67138? To register an AT&T SynJ SB67108 handset to a new SB67138 base unit, you will need to follow these steps:

1. Make sure the new base unit is plugged in and turned on.
2. Press and hold the "Menu" button on the handset until the display shows "Menu."
3. Use the navigation buttons to select "Registration" and press "Select."
4. Select "Base" and press "Select."
5. The handset will begin searching for the new base unit.

Do you mean the AT&T CL81301 Cordless telephone? This model doesn't have an answering system. You'd need to adjust the number of rings for your voicemail system through the telephone company's system. If you mean the AT&T CL82301 or the CL83301, first make sure that the system is set to Answer On. Do this with the base Answer On/Off button or through the Menu system (see below for accessing the Answering System menu). You'll need the Answer On/Off line in the handset menu. With the phone system idle (no calls in or out, no one using another handset), press Menu/Select. Use the Up(DIR)/Down(CID) arrows to navigate to Answering Sys. Press Menu/Select. Navigate to Ans Sys Setup and press Menu/Select. Navigate to # of Rings and press Menu/Select. Use the up/down arrows to choose the number of rings and press Menu/Select to Save.
