Try checking your storage as if its to full it will only download till its full then realise it has no space left then it will stop and delete the item

I would try charging it with a different charger. its more likely that the charger itself is the issue. If not then the issue could be with the phone. Try a hard reset of the phone ( pulling the battery) and then put battery back in and plug in charger. try moving it around if no connection issue could be with the charger or the charging port on the phone.
