Sd card won't click down

There may be several reasons. 1. Is the SD card the right size? Check to confirm your card is the right size for the camera. 2. Make sure you face the card the right way. If you try inserting the wrong-way, it won't slide into its compartment. 3. Check to make sure that the sliding switch on the card is aligned to 'ON' 4. Make sure the card compartment is free from obstruction When you try the 4 points above but cannot slide the SD card into the camera, let me know.

Looking for free download software for Kodak easyshare C183 with no charge

After I registered my Kodak EasyShare camera, I could download updates for the Picture easy software for free with Kodak. My guess is they still have the newest software for all users. (I'm now using Nikon, so I did not update from Kodak for a long time)

Free download software

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries. Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program, such as the free Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

Screen turns purple and images do not come out

Maryelizabeth, Unfortunately that sounds like the CCD (screen) is bad/going out. I would contact Kodak via the guided Assistant online repair tool here. http://support.en.kodak.com/app/repair_assist/prodfamily/default/warranty/verify/selected/true

Memory card protected reset switch

SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.
