Toshiba Satellite R15-S822 Tablet PC - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
My toshiba r15-s822 says it
Xp can only "See" a hard drive up to about 128GB, if its bigger than that, XP won't install.
Make sure your drive is properly connected, and jumper in the right place (1 drive, set to master)
If it used to work before your problem, should be ok.
Then boot from your windows disk. If your bios is set to boot from the hard drive, if there's no operating system on your hard drive it can't boot.
If its set to boot from the hard drive first, it may, after a few seconds revert to booting from the disk drive. If not, while booting watch the screen, at the bottom it you should see "Press F2 for setup or F10 for boot options" or something similar. To temporarily change the settings, choose the boot options menu and select "Boot from CD". Restart and you should be on your way.
If that doesn't work, you may need a new hard drive.

My Toshiba r15-s822 isn't connecting
Try connecting to the Internet through the ethernet port (via a cable). If Internet Explorer loads the target page then you have a configuration problem with WI-Fi access : The wireless security settings are not allowing the computer to access the Internet.
If Internet Explorer does not connect with the cable then the problem resides with Internet Explorer. Try to reset the defaults. To confirm that download FireFox and use it. Besides you need two browsers just in case one acts up.

I might not be necessary to reset to factory settings. Just go to the Toshiba.us support site and download the drivers for the Tablet PC (that includes the WAcom driver, all the tablet PC extensions).
If you have the Recovery CD, you can run it from inside Windows XP and reinstall selectively all you need.
Just to set things straight, the screen of the R15 reacts to the Wacom pen only, not to your finger or some other plastic tipped pen.

At boot time system immediately displays PASSWORD
Hi
It sounds like a BIOS or CMOS password were set and you have to take care not to put in the wrong password more the 3 times otherwise it will lock the computer down.
If you can't remember or do not know the password there is ways to bypass it. Go to the link below which gives you some more options and backdoor passwords. I would suggest to try 2 passwords then restart and try again.(I do not garuantee this will work though, so be careful)
You can also try resetting by removing the cmos batttery for about 24 hours to make sure all reserve power is drained etc.

Hope this helps

To reset the BIOS read the information from this
link.
In case of your Toshiba Satellite R15-S822 laptop the easiest method would be using software from Hiren's Boot CD as it's pretty hard to open it up and reach for the CMOS battery (which is on the motherboard) or the jumper.

Techies, please help! I've
Toshiba support could be quite correct and service center solution the only one.
You could try this from the command line window in safe mode.
Open a command window and type CHKDSK /r (there is a space between K&r). It will tell you the drive is locked and would you like it to happen on reboot. Enter y then exit and reboot.
It's got me out of trouble a few times.

It sounds to me you have BIOS password problem. When powering the computer up, Widows I'm guesing,.It probably very quickly has an option to F@ and F12. Press F8 to put the computer to safe mode. From there run a regerestry fix.
I hope that works for you. P.S. That is free too!!!!!
