How can i reset a toshiba satellite pro m15 s405

Most Toshiba laptops with come with the factory software recovery image stored in a special hidden partition on the hard drive of the laptop. The factory software recovery image allows the user to recover the laptop to its factory fresh condition as when it was new. This partition may also be referred to as the Partitioned Recovery Method or Free Recovery option. IMPORTANT: The recovery process deletes information stored on the internal storage drive. Be sure to save your work to external media before executing the recovery.
  1. Make sure the computer is turned off ("Shut-down" from the Windows Start menu)
  2. Remove any peripherals such an external mouse, keyboard, monitor, USB flash drive etc.
  3. Make sure the AC Adapter is plugged in and working.
  4. On machines with the F key numbers on the top edge of the keys and in White: • Press and hold the 0 (zero) key and power up the laptop. • Release the 0 (zero) key when the recovery warning screen appears. On machines with the F key numbers on the bottom edge of the keys and in Gray: • Power up the laptop. • When the initial TOSHIBA screen displays, press the F12 key to enter the boot menu. • Use the arrow keys to select the HDD Recovery option and press the enter key to begin.
  5. The TOSHIBA recovery wizard warning screen appears stating that when the recovery is executed all data will be deleted and the original factory software image will be rewritten. If the recovery process offers a choice of Operating Systems, select the appropriate one for you.
  6. After you are sure you have everything you want from the laptop saved, click Yes.
  7. When the Toshiba Recovery Wizard opens, the default and recommended option is "Recovery of Factory Default Software".
  8. After selecting your desired recovery method, select Next.
  9. On the next screen you may have recovery method options. The default and recommended method is to Recover to Out of Box state.
  10. Select next to continue.
  11. Follow the on screen instructions as you navigate through the system recovery steps.
  12. The laptop will restart multiple times and install the needed components.

Hi, I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro M15-S405 with a flickering screen. Is it possible to replace the video card on this model?

It may be nothing wrong but the message on start is indicates the lack of video driver for it ..I suggest to download the latest driver from the manufacturer's site ..and be sure it is for your model and operation system in use..run the driver and will ask for restart ..after that will work fine ..It may need to make manually adjustments for the resolution you need.Make them directly from the video card settings ..(on the task bar tray ) http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=DL&os=&category=&moid=380609&rpn=PS630U&modelFilter=M15-S405&selCategory=2756709&selFamily=1073768667These are all drives for your model under the windows xp ..(being a old model it has no drivers for windows 7 ..If you are running windows 7 you can install the windows xp driver but it will give you an error unless you open the driver's folder and look for teh executable (installer ) ..and click right on it ..choose properties..and under the compatibility ..select to run in compatibility with windows xp ..,than apply and OK .Run it again ..and will also give you the error ..but will offer to run it in compatibility mode..choose it and install ..After restart just click right on desktop choose change resolution ..and select a larger one ..pay attention that not all will fit on your monitor .usually for the 15 inch monitor try 1024 /768 ..If you use windows xp ..just run the driver and it will fix the issue .

Recovery disk does not recognize

I don't know what you mean by recognizing ..but i suppose it does not start the recovery process..and this may have a few causes..The first thing to check is if the disk is having an operation system on it or it is just the drivers and factory programs recovery ..In this case you need a boot-able disk with the operation system on it ..and use the recovery disk after installing the system first .Another thing may be just a boot issue ..If your computer does not have the boot from cd enabled ..this may be an issue ..so my advice is to press f2 on stat and go to BIOS settings ..and look for boot sequence and select the cd /dvd drive as first boot device ..and hard disk the second..and save the changes by pressing F10 ..and restart ..This will make the disk to boot like it should if it has the correct information on it ..It will ask to press any key for confirmation of the disk boot ...and go with the installing .there is a 3rd possibility in which you have to load the ahci driver for the system first ..cause the recovery disk loads the files but do not see a boot disk ..cause the hard disk by default is set to work on the ahci function of the sata bus..and if you do not load a 3rd party driver for the ahci ..it does not see the hdd..In this case load the driver from a floppy or from a usb ..and go on with the process or just go to bios ..and look for the ahci feature in the advanced settings or in teh devices..and disable it and let it run sata as ide or ide compatible ..save settings with F10 and restart ..It will never ask for driver again and will load the recovery if the disk is functional .i hope this will help ..cause I covered almost all possibilities but a faulty disk in which case you just have to get a boot-able disk with the operation system you use and reinstall it clean ..and run the drivers after doing it ..and install all programs needed manually .Please rate my answer if it helps ..and thank you for using our site !..have a nice day !

There's a manual volume control just on the inboard side of the shell. It's sort buried below the surface of the shell. It turns out this is a knob for tuning up the hardware.

That's the most common reason for missing audio among Toshiba owners.

For some reason, the User's Guide doesn't say much (if anything) about that volume-control dial.

Click on this link or copy and paste the complete link into your browser.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response

When putting WEP key wireless cannot connect

Check that you are correctly entering the WEP key, and that you have been told the correct value for the WEP key.

Or, reconfigure the router, to define:
* an SSID
* an encryption-level (use 'WPA' or 'WPA2')
* a password

Then, use the SSID/password to connect to the router.

How do I reset password as when I turn it on it

Im assuming it is a bios password you are talking about. The easiest way is to pull the main battery, then you have to find the CMOS battery which is usually hidden under a panel. Try removing any panels on the bottom of the computer to see if you can find the battery. If you do, unplug it for 10 seconds. Then put it back in and you should be fine.

  2. Click to select any options that are required to start the computer from the CD drive if you are prompted.
  3. When the "Welcome to Setup" screen appears, press R to start the Recovery Console.
  4. Press 1 (One) to select windows XP and then hit enter.
  5. When you are prompted, type the Administrator password. If the administrator password is blank, just press ENTER.

  8. If the Bootrec.exe tool cannot locate any missing Windows installations, you must remove the BCD store, and then you must re-create it. To do this, type the following commands in the order in which they are presented. Press ENTER after each command.

Bcdedit /export C:\BCD_Backup

ren c:\boot\bcd bcd.old

Bootrec /rebuildbcd

I have a SD card port on the side of my Toshiba

This doesn't sound like a factory loaded hard drive - if you've loaded the SD card driver and get this found new hardware message, you need to tell it to look for the drivers in the folder Windows
\ Driver Cache. That'll do it.

There's no M70 model, so I'm assuming you're talking abut a Satellite Pro M10, M15 series laptop. If the slightest movement hangs it or causes BSOD, then my guess is ... well ... I'll let you have it: the weaknesses of this models are: (1) bad memory socket (the upper socket),or (2) bad sound card socket. The one that's easiest to access is the upper memory socket - remove the installed memory from that socket, and see if your machine will still hang or blue-screen. I don't know if anyone still fixes these sockets (I do), but you can get around it by installing a larger capacity memory into the lower socket and skipping the upper socket altogether.

Toshiba satellite p305 I tried to uninstall

I think that is nothing wrong but you just selected the wrong way to restore it ..You should select to reinstall teh operation system complete ..and also to format the C drive during it ..in quick mode ..this would save time ..I suggest to get it from the start cause more than sure this way is in error ..and if it do not work ..just use a boot-able disk with the operation system and download the drivers for the used operation system from the manufacturer's site..here is the link fr your model http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=DL&os=&category=&moid=380609&rpn=PS630U&modelFilter=M15-S405&selCategory=2756709&selFamily=1073768667select the correct 305 one ..and the operation system and download the drivers in case you do not have them ..If you suspect the recovery is damaged try to see if they can provide a new one or just reinstall it using a boot-able disk ..you can download an image from torrent sites.Good luck !
