Panasonic 144v Lithion Cordless Drill Ey7440ln2s Questions & Answers
Panasonic troubleshooting
The brushes of model EY7440 from between building year 2007 and 2009 have brushes what hangs split in the lengt. and have no pressure on the commutator of the ancre, if you have a multimeter and push the trigger (with a 14,4 battery connected) then you must have a voltage on the brushes , if there is no voltage on the brushes the switch could be damaged or you are forget to set the little steel springs in the middle on the brushes so set that they are pushing the brushes on the commutator collectors of the ancre ?
good luck
Cordless starts and stops sporadically
You have eliminated the trigger. So try this; clean off the armature with some electrical contact cleaner and a cotton rag
check the brushes (may need to be changed)
clean the sections where the base of the armature (and the top) articulate with the base of the motor
add a graphite based lubricant to those areas before reassembling
Impact driver
IF ......It, s an older model Panasonic EY with carbon brushes the armature (motor) and brushes allways both parts must be replaced for a longer lasting repair in that case but don,t forget to inspect the state of the wires and 2 mosfets that are placed on a separate heatsink below the switch look at that part either , if the tool is older then 4 years and you trust the switch no longer when in doubt do not repair. it, the marketing and warranty on Panasonic are now in better conditions . ask your dealer
RILL IS BEAPING WHEN YOU PULL THE TRIGGER
Giving 2 short beaps and 2 red leds on it blinked .
If its a EY7440 ? the control pcb must be the problem itself , but if its a brushless model then the 6 mosfets on the motor could be short circuit EY754* was oft the cause, but they have modified the motor for the new EY75** models with brushless motors .
Battery will not charge
Maybe a 14,4 v battery with 1,5 AH year 2013 bought ?? there where a few series of hidden defects that early time the early build s tool in combination with the EY7441. or the panasonic limegun .
Go with the defect battery to your Panasonic service where you bought it , If they are not to lazy to
the Panasonic after sales or agent they are wel willing to help you with Service on it . there is from this year more then only one year garantie on the tools of Panasonic but more on hidden defects when you explain the problem but when its fallen then its over because of a print or contact fracture
How do I remove the chuck from an old 9.6v Panasonic Drill/Driver?
ITS does come off the same way turn clock wise the screw out and if the chuck is damaged it could not turn anymore then take of the little spring on the top of the chuck to take off the plastic from it and make the metal piece a little bit hot with a flame or fohn get a pipe wrench and setting the tool in gear 1 and couterclockwise from the machine or with a small hammer a little turn at one of the three claws
A jammed clutch
you need to split the casing to check but be careful of any small parts inside coming outside suddenly good luck
