Keyspan SX Pro Serial Adapter set up
Do you have the driver cd of the card. For setting up a PCI card simply insert it in the pci slot and install drivers when it asks you.

this should work with OS 8.1 or greater, as long as your slot is 5v and not 3.3v but there are serial printer port driver issues, but nothing other than the usual, see below

Usb doesnt recognize serial device
You didn't mention exactly what keyspan device you're trying to install. That's some pretty important information, but I'm going to make a suggestion based on what I've got at this moment. If you need more, you've got to give more info.
I'm assuming that if there is a power supply for your device, it is plugged in and working properly. Do you have the drivers installed for the end device? If not, the device might not be backward compatible. Your best bet would be to simply run it on an older computer, if you can.
If it was me, I think I'd carefully check the pins on the device you're trying to adapt to USB. Those pins are pretty delicate, compared to USB. One bent or missing data pin and it might not work.

As a software guy, I would have to advise against piracy. :)
There are several ways to get Visio for cheap. If you are a student, there are discounted versions available online and in stores. Also, you can check with your school for even cheaper options sometimes. Try the university bookstore if available. Or a Computer Science department maybe.
If you are working, and your company uses MS Office applications, find out if they have the "Microsoft at Home" program. You can get MS Office applications for really cheap that way. I can get Visio through my company's "Microsoft at Home" program for a few dollars.
