Unfortunately, the hard drive in the Toshiba Satellite Pro 6100 is a 2.5" 9.5 mm thick spinning hard drive. It uses a Ultra-ATA/66 (ATA-5 E-IDE) 44 pin connection. To my knowledge, no SSDs have a IDE connections; they all use the SATA port. Amazon and E-bay list 2.5" hard drives with the correct connector. However, they are likely to be used drives. If they are new, they have been on shelves for a long time. I have seen IDE adapter boxes for inserting the stick type SSDs into a laptop. Note: the SSDs must be purchased separately. Make sure that the capacity disk is compatible with the OS. Windows XP SP1 can't address more than a 2TB boot drive. The initial release had a 137 GB limit. You may also have driver issues with the PCI-E SATA drives. The specification sheet that I provided a link to does not give the SP for the original Windows XP Pro installation. (even by laws) they tell you , step 1 backup data step 2 send it in.

The flexible PCB, (feeds the screen) is either damaged or the connector has come loose.

The Toshiba F6 screw is NOT unique to your particular laptop. The same screw can be found on multiple Toshiba laptops manufactured from 2003 to 2006. Even if the laptop is old, broken, obsolete or unwanted, this screw can be removed and re-used on your Toshiba laptop. I am in the repair business and I re-use these screws all the time. The bios password will not stop you from signing in to your account. If you mean the windows password, that is a problem for you as there are no ways to find it out. The bios password can be removed by momentarily shorting the two lands out whilst powering it up.

it will take some effort to remove the housing of the laptop to be able to have access to the CMOS battery. usually a small coin battery. if you remove it the bios password will be reset to default

If the laptop has Windows 10 and you are trying to view videos with the default Windows media viewer, this is probably the problem. It is not very good at recognizing various video codecs, but does fairly good at audio ones. Try downloading VLC free viewer. It is no cost and works well.
