Kodak EasyShare DX7590 Digital Camera - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
How do i install a new sd card
Installing a new SD card is as simple as pulling the old one out and sliding the new one in. You may need to "format" the new card, using the camera's menus.
Kodak DX7590 won't format sd card
Usually means the card is bad. Confirm it won't do _any_ cards. Then it's a problem with the camera, and it will be a circuitry issue... not easily repaired.
Scratch in lens
Although it is annoying when you see a scratch, most scratches can't be seen on a picture. Unless it is very deep and in the centre. The only problem is, you easy can get a lens flare.
If you can live with the scratch, forget that it is there and only avoid light shining on the front lens from the side. My DX7590, still has a perfect lens, but I can't shoot, because my mode dial and joystick don't work any more. I still enjoy the pictures I took with that camera.
Kodak dx7590 camera dock will not light up
Although you did not mention what Dock you are using, I assume it is the Camera Dock 6000. Is the Dock connected with the power supply? Because only connected to the PC with a USB cable will not be enough. Also the LiIon battery in the camera, should be charged at least once. If the battery is completely empty the dock will have trouble to. The dock can be used to charge your camera. Then the lights should indicate the state of the battery. And the Dock can be used to transfer pictures to the PC. But before that will work correct you have to install the software that came with the camera. (Easy Share software)
Flash doesn't pop up
If you move the switch on the right of the flash, to the right, the flash still won't come out? That is how I have to open my flash on my DX7590
Kodak DX7590 joystick doesn't work in some positions.
Hello, The eyepiece does not have to be removed, the camera body sections are quite hard to separate, The rubber flaps do not need to be removed either, but there are screws under them. Use great care and go easy.Best Regards, Russell
Battery not charging
Hello June, This sounds pretty easy, I repair these cameras. It sounds like you have a problem with the adapter that plugs into the wall outlet. Remove the battery from the camera and plug the a/c adapter directly in to the camera and try to power on the camera,if it powers on then the problem is the dock,if it do not power on it is the a/c adapter.Best Regards, Russell
Night Time Pics
Hello Ruby, On the mode dial you will see a setting for night time use, you should not have to change any other settings. If you refer to the user manual it will explain this in greater detail than I have room here to list.Best Regards, Russell
Camera won't permit review of pictures
Hello Charlie, Hook your camera directly to your PC with the USB cable, The computer should see Kodak Easyshare, Double click on it to open and check in the folder shown for your photos and down load or delete them as you wish. As far as the SD card error it sounds like possible camera firmware problem,go to Kodak website under support for Dx7590 for the firmware and instructions.Best Regards, Russell
