My kodak z740 will not turn on when i put the batteries in

Hope you are using high quality name brand batteries. The generic brands do not have the power to boot the unit. If you are using good batteries then the camera needs service / repair. no consumer fix .

I have a kodak easyshare 14mp that will not let me download pictures

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

My pictures are to dark

if you are doing flash photography you will have to limit the shots to a distance of 10-15 feet to get nicely lit pics. also try setting the exposure compensation to +2 to brighten up the pic. Also are you shooting on manual ???

I accidently deleted some pictures from my sd

I had success with this1. Do not save any new file to memory card.2. Connect your card to computer. You should see memory card shown as a drive letter (like H:) in My Computer.3. Download a recovery software, recommended asoftech photo recovery (simply because i was using it and it worked)http://www.facebook.com/pages/Asoftech-Photo-Recovery/126127714100611?sk=info4. Install and open the photo recovery program, select your memory drive, and click 'Start' button to start scanning process which will find your deleted photos.
