You actually may not have set up a password on the router. It comes from the factory with a default. The default username is left blank and the default password is "admin". If that doesn't work, then there is a different password on the unit. You can clear the password by doing a factory reset on the device, but then you will need to use the defaults to go back in a set up the device all over again. The external reset method is to press and hold the RESET button on the bottom or the back of the unit (it may be recessed into a small hole that you will need to use a paperclip on) for a minimum of ten seconds.

Change the position of the WiFi router, because there are things like duct work, metal studs and electrical wiring concealed in the walls that can and will have an effect on WiFi signal strength.

When you plug it in, it will be enabled and wont have any security features. So you need to set up wireless security and passwords if you are using wireless. 5. After making sure that the two routers are on the same IP range, connect a computer to the server router and then ping the IP of the client router. Once you can ping it, then it should work.

Using web browser enter the default ip of the linksys device. Make sure a port on the router is connected to your PC. Also ensure you configure the PC is on same subnet as your router. Login with the default credentials. This should take you to the router interface where you can set up SSID and security for your WIFI

abracadabra a model number would take the use of magic out of the solution. How have you hooked up this device is it working with an existing modem router ? Is the router an adsl router as well as wireless. What is the IP address of the router ? Are there two dchp servers on your network ?
