I stepped on my Iomega external memory and went to PC world for data recovery, they can't do it?could you help?

take the drive out of the case and try this cable: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812123312 If the internal drive is physically damaged (if it wont power on or spin) then you will need to use a data recovery service that can pull the drive apart and recover the data directly from the platters. Note: These services are expensive.

MY IOMEGA LPHD-UP3 external/usb memory device, thinks it is full.

click start control panel administrative tools computer management disk management right click on your drive select properties click tools you should see click check now click start two boxes automatically fix files and scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors place then a tick in both boxes then select check now start you might tick one box then return after its finished the first repair then return and tick the second box you should not do anything while the chkdsk utility is in progress any input may damage this drive I found that you get best results by ticking one box then returning after it has finished then tick the other box hope this helps

Around 4 gb ? In the Microsoft Windows operating system, you can copy and paste 5 GB files as long as you have enough disk drive space. The disk drive to which you're pasting the file must be formatted using the New Technology File System (NTFS), which supports the copying and pasting of very large files. Purchase a large capacity USB external hard disk drive from a reputable vendor. Make sure that the hard disk drive is at least 100 GB. Connect the external hard disk drive to a spare USB port in your computer. Wait for the Windows operating system to recognize the hard disk drive. Double-click on the "Computer" icon on the Windows Desktop, after which a window will appear listing all of your disk drives. Establish the letter of the new hard disk drive you have just installed. For the purpose of this article, the drive letter is assumed to be "E." Right-click on drive "E," click on "Format," change the file system to "NTFS," then click on the "Start" button. Wait for the process to complete. Click on the 5 GB+ file to select it, then press "Ctrl" + "C" on your keyboard to copy the file to the Windows Clipboard. Click on the "Computer" icon on the Windows Desktop, then double-click on the "E" drive. This will open the root folder of the hard disk drive in the same window. Press "Ctrl" + "V" on your keyboard to paste the 5 GB+ file from the Windows Clipboard to the new hard disk drive. Wait for the process to complete, which will take several minutes. File transfer software http://www.filebuzz.com/findsoftware/High_Speed_File_Transfer/1.html http://download.cnet.com/Fast-File-Saw-Joiner/3000-2248_4-10388628.html When e-mailing or archiving huge files, it sometimes helps to cut them into smaller pieces. Fast File Saw & Joiner does exactly that, and puts the pieces back together, too.

I have an Iomega MDHD500-N external hardrive. I erased a folder of photos accidentaly. How can I recover the photos?

Did you look in your recycle bin. If you are lucky you may be able to restore them from there. Other than that, that is why they also say to do a backup every once in a while. Please rate my answer to I am rewarded points for it.
