How do i change my netgear password

the default username and password for netgear router is admin and passwordif in case you have change the username or password and you dont remember what it is just press the reset button at the back of the router for 5 sec, careful though cause this will also delete all the info that you have input in the router the first time such as isp info this will cause disconnection from the internet, but as soon as you know those info you can go ahaead and do this. this will also reset the username and pass of the wifi connection.

I had someone set up my new NetGear Router, but

Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link. http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.15.1 or http://192.168.2.1 If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it. Then it ask for user name and password. Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank. Then you can see configuration page of router. If you are still not able to access router with above ip then you need to RESET it for that press RESET button for 10 seconds it is in back side of router then all settings defaults..Then you can access it with above method. . Then click on wireless->wireless security->WEP security there is code password note down it or enter new password then save setting s and restart router. then you can connect wireless with new password. Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.

    Wgt624v4 wont connect

Hi John, Have you tried resetting the router using the internet address? When your IE stops with "Can't open Page" type into the URL box 192.168.100.1/gscan.htm. This should give you the router maintenance page which will tell you if it is working ok and options to try and reset it.

How do I change frequency on router

This router is only capable of using the 2.4 Ghz range. If you are experiencing interference on your wireless network you may want to try to change the wireless channel. If you have other devices in the location that uses the 2.4 Ghz range you may want to research to see if they also have the option to change to another channel as well. 12_17_2012_3_20_03_am.png

    Routerlogin

    1. Connect with your computer through one of the RJ45 jacks at the back.
    2. Turn on you computer and connect to the router (factory default is http://192.168.0.1 unless it was changed)
    3. Enter your user name and password (factory default is "admin" for the user name and "password" for the password.

If you changed any of the above and don't remember how it was set it up. You'll have to reset the router to factory defaults and reconfigure your router. There is a switch at the back of this router to do this (you need a paper clip to press it). If I remember correctly, you have to hold the switch and power the router. , you have to hold the switch and power the router.

Does my wireless router need to be on internet to stop the video freezing while on skype

This is a 14 year old router and runs at a very slow speed. It will not support video with todays high resolution cameras. Probably time to upgrade to a 802.11G router.

    Netgear65 n750 not effective 40 ft. away

If the router has "N" value it should run a good distance away, even to the neighbors home. If "G" 30 Feet to 50 feet max. 40 Feet is difficult if passing through thick walls or steel buildings. If it is not an "N" router, then you need that or an Extender system. See TigerDirect for hardware replaements.
