Thanks for identifying the light, that is the problem, it is the Numberpad lock indicator that tells you the keyboard is in numeric pad configuration.

Switching it back is a simple matter of finding the num lk key or a key with the same picture beside the light. when you find it hold down the Fn key then press the num lk key and it will switch back to the regular mode.

This is a "feature" of most laptops and although rarely useful is apparently liked by enough people that they keep putting it in ;D

Hi,Have tried installing the CHIPSET Driver for the Motherboard?Check the device manager for any bang on the devices meaning either a driver is missing or a wrong or incorrect driver is possibly installed, unless a REX "x" is foung beside USB hub then that would mean that is it busted or damaged.but it is unlikely to have a USB hub/port to be busted unless physically, install the chipset driver and check again make sure you restart the system after installing the CHIPSET driver to make sure that it is properly installed in Windows and that it will detect the USB ports in device manager.

Hello.I hate to tell you, but that spark in your USB port apparently fried other components of your notebook. This is not a normal occurrance.If still under warranty, contact LG Support ( http://www.lg.com/us/support/index.jsp ) to replace those parts or provide a replacement notebook.Hope this helps.

Go find the software IDM (Internet Download Manager)it works great for downloading videos from most anywhere.Real Player will download videos also but not very well.

What specific error are you getting and what operating system do you have.

Use http://mastermindit.biz/Unlock_Bios_and_HDD.php or http://www.unlockbiosrecovery.com/ to get you bios unlocked or your hard drive unlocked. These guys are pros and can reset your bios password or hard drive password easily. They do great work.

It sounds like the ram is not compatible with the current ram in the system. The reason for the dots and lines is because your video depends on a portion of the ram installed. The video memory is not separate from the system ram.

Confirm the type of ram already in the system. You can also remove the current ram and test the new stick if you are certain it is compatible with your laptop.

Try finding an icon in your keyboard that looks like a touchpad (Usually between F1 to F12). Press that together with the Fn key (Usually found side by side with Ctrl).

If this is happening only on the right side of you keyboard this usually means that the Number Lock (Num Lock) was turned on.

To turn in off simply select the "Fn + Num Lock" buttons to disable it.

The laptop cannot find the boot hard drive, it may be faulty or just need reseating to make proper electrical connection.
First - re-seat the harddisk and reboot the computer. If this does not work then reboot and go to theBIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If it doesn'tdetect the hard drive then it could be faulty. Next - to determine if thehard drive is faulty, remove the hard drive and insert it into an USB hard drive adapter and connect it to a workingcomputer's USB port. If this computer cannot see itas an external hard drive and you cannot open the various folders and files,this confirms the hard drive is faulty. Then the hard drive needsto be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer orlaptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioningcomputer/laptop again.
