No i am looking for a pdf n55 user guide

You can find old camera user guides on this guys website but I don't think he has one for Nikon N55. I believe there is one for N50 but I am not sure how much this will help you. Good luck.

F---

It means that you haven't turned the lens aperture ring to the minimum (highest number).

Note also that some older Nikon lenses will fit the camera but are incompatible with the F-55 (N55 in USA).

We need a user/owner manual for the Nikon N55 camera.

The Nikon F55 is the exact same camera....the manual is available here:

ftp://FQL2V2NM:[email protected]/Manuals/YS301T4P/F55rmen.pdf

Be patient - it takes a minute to load, then you can click the Save from File menu.

Shutter speed

When you set the camera to "Full Manual" mode, you should be able to dial in your shutter speeds, for most film cameras, including the N55 30 Seconds is the slowest shutter speed. If your camera features a "Bulb" mode, then the shutter stays open as long as you are holding down the shutter release button.

Can't find manual for instructions Nikon N55

If you want to rewind manually, you need to press two buttons simultanously. Turn the power on. First, hold "BKT" button just above lens release knob then press the button "+/1" just next to the shutter release. Both button will have red rewind sign next to them. -James

New roll of film rewinds instead of advancing

Your camera has a faulty winding mechanism. It suppose to rewind in the end of the film when there are tension present but somehow the detecting system in your winding mechanism is detecting when the back door is closed. Remedy is replacing the clutch system within winding mechanism. Average repair runs about $90. -James. For further assistance by email, go to www.camerarepairjapan.com

Digital N55

It is possible since most of mediam format film cameras have come out with digital backs. But in reality on economic situation, the cost of digital back are over $5000 when manufactured. So purchasing a Nikon digital body would be most desirable for your Nikon lenses. -James

Different language

I do not have any information on different language for N55. Unless unknow to us but there are no language setting on selector dial or any of the button on the body. It may be set at the factory for different regional products. Just for the fun, learn the language.. Seriously, It probably set at the factory and cannot be changed. We have not yet seen one with different language. LCD template is designed for English for US products. Good luck -James

Check the rear optic on your lens. Then may be dust or debris preventing the focus to lock on your subject.

Nikon N55 Won't take picture in Auto Focus Mode?

There was a recall on the N55 due to auto focus problems. You can do a google search or nikon.com email the support team and they will send you the paper. This is what I did, I wasn't charged since I had the correct papers. I, however, used one roll of film and my focus went out again! Mine doesn't even work on manual... If you want to try that maybe you will hae better luck than me. GOOD LUCK!

FEE error message

To get rid of the pesky fEE just set your lens to f22 or f16 ( depending on what lens you have ) and that is all. You might also want to lock this setting in ( if it is a Nikon lens then the lock is on the side just above the lens aperture ring.

Nikon n55 film camera

You must have your lens set to the minimum aperture setting for this camera to function. I.E. f22,f32. The aperture ring moves a small tab on the outside of the mount ring when in that position.
