There should be holes on the bottom of the swing for the straps to go through. Try to find some other unused strap and use that instead. Maybe a strap from an old bag or backpack. You can also scout your local Salvation Army or some garage sales for items with straps in them that you can use.

I have never heard of a dis-assembly instruction sheet, however, when you buy one, there is an assembly sheet, if it is not assembled already.
A mechanic-type person should be able to figure this out for you.
