Uninstall the Belkin software and see if it helps. If not, then you will have to do a soft reinstall of the OS over the curent install with your Packard Bell Windows Cd, or a fresh install. (Make sure you make a back if you are doing a fresh install.
If you have made a restore point earlier, you can try to restore the system to a point before you installed the Belkin router. This way you do not need to do a fresh Windows install. But you will lose any data you stored since the time of that restore point.

6 screens showing on laptop
If you have the correct type of mouse on Windows XP and the scroll wheel clicks, this is what you have done click it again to return to the normal desktop. I think that you will find that you have the BSOD (blue screen of death) have you recently installed new memory or installed a USB device like a memory stick.
If you hit F8 on startup and then start the windows with last known good config this might start up correctly. If this fails then could you let me know what one of the blue screens says.
Enter Safe mode and then install this reg tweak to
disable BSOD and then restart you should be able to read what the screen says.
I believe that this is something that has been developed in Vista to make it easier to see you minimized windows.
