Soyo Onyx SYTPT4227AB 42 in. LCD TV - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
How do I reset it?
There are two types of reset to TVs.
The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset; and the other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight; will be better. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here.

Good day!!!Sorry for the late response because my internet connections got problem hope you understand..OK,First thing I need to know if the board on the picture in the forum is the original board of your TV or it is the board you purchase..If that is the board you purchase I think that board is the exact replacement however it different on the version of said board..so that the TV works fine but the remote is not function..Or the IR is bad..try to see the version on the original board to the new purchase board if the same..check the encircle part of main board need to compare..
If they are the same the problem I see is the IR sensor try to clean it first including the glass protector before you replace it..But if the problem is different version no choice you need to replace the board or contact the store where you buy it and ask for replacement..Just keep on touch to fix the problem..Hope it helps thank youRossiel

Television will not come on
I recently repaired 2 LCDs that would not imidiatly turn on when the power button was pressed. It took the first one 5-10 cycles before it would start, and the little one took about a half hour. I removed the back and found that a few components were bad on the inverter portion of the board and replaced them with corrisponding parts from a local electornics store and they both started first try everytime. If you have the tinkering spirit and for the price of a soldering station some desolder braid and some solder you could fix your problem today.
Just make sure it is unplugged!

I have a 42 inch flat screen SOYO tv.....have had
Hi.
It appears that your are having a tube failure issue.
Either that, or you have a capacitor problem.
Both can act like that, but as a rule the tube acts more like that when it fails than the other parts of the tv.
The tubes are replaceable, and are available from Fry's and BestBuy.
If it winds up that it is the capacitors instead, then I would take the tv to either Fry's, BestBuy, or RadioShack.
These companies have specially trained techs for just that repair, as it takes special skills to deal with the voltage and power that capacitors can hold in them.
I hope that this helps you out some, and good luck!

Will not turn on
Off brand televisions have problems with the engineering behind their components. You will need to look for popped or buldged capacitors on the power supply mainly! Also look for any burnt resistors as these also over heat and will pop capacitors.

I have a Soyo TV you turn it on and it keeps flashing 100-0. What is wrong with it. How can it be fixed.
Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.
http://electro-medical.blogspot.com/
If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.
Search the site by type in the "
brand name" to your device, in the "
Search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts.
Counting of number of blinks to Philips TVs is entirely different to that of other brand TVs. It is not a direct count procedure. The site have details about how to count the number of LED blinks [Fault Codes] to Philips brand TVs are given; along with details of the faulty circuit location.
