Either the hard disk has become corrupt or the OS that was installed is not being recognised now. Try making it slave or secondary and see if the pc is able to detect it then recover the data that you want to save else format it.

If you are reformatting the disk on a Mac, then open the Disk Utility, then click reformat, and choose the format FAT32. If you have it connected to your PC, go to my computer, right click and select reformat, then choose FAT32.

You will need to recover the data using something like this data recovery program.http://www.asoftech.com/adr/I've had to use it many times in the past but in this case you need to take out the hard drive from mac and put it into a Windows computer as an external drive or slave drive and run the software from there. It will rebuild the drive and hopefully recover the files.Good luck.

This could be an issue where the part of the hard drive you are trying to access is corrupt and not accessible which would explain the reason that it would let you access the other partition.

Now I have seen cases where Malware can break the link of a Hard Drive.

So let's try a couple of steps.

Let's go back in to "Disk Management"

Lets right click on the partition that you are not able to access and select "Change Drive Letter and Paths"

Now try selecting a new Drive Letter.

This will restore the path if it has been broken.

I have a firelite USBFLB60 60gb. My cord broke, so I just ordered "Cable Wholesale USB Type A Male / Mini-B Male Cable, 5 Pin, Black, 1 ft" from Amazon for very cheap. I think that is the correct adapter, and I imagine it would be the same for yours.
