The printer will detect if there is any cartridges that has run out of ink and will not print until the empty ink cartridges have been replaced.

Try going to manufactures web site and downloading drivers for the printer from there. Also you might check your device manager to see if the unit is being recognized by your computer. it should show up iunder USB or Printers. I had an Epson that did the same thing but mine was a wireless and I had to re-establish coneection and go through setup again to have my IP address recognized. Most of the time plug n play will pick up the new device.You might also try running security and windows updates on your computer, there might be an update that is keeping the computer from recognising the printer anymore.Its just a start of what could be going on, hope its an easy fix.

You could "name" the scanned document and put it on your desktop (under C: ) Then after creating the second document "copy" the scanned document to thhe bottom of the second document. Use the right click to copy and then go to second document and click "paste".

Quikshiptoner is a good site for ink and toner that I generally use. It has black and color ink for the MP495. I'd just go there and search for the printer you need and it should come up with the correct ink / toner that you need.
