20 Most Recent Canon PIXMA MP495 InkJet Printer - Page 4 Questions & Answers

It's a funny thing but all I did was press the physical SCAN button on the MP495 - instead of trying to do it from a program in the computer. It scanned the document immediately and launched MP Navigator. I had tried most of the solutions here first, with no success.

Make sure that the printer is plugged in and turned on. Close the document cover (if it is open). Lift the scanner unit and hold it open with the support on the right. Wait until the ink cartridge carrier moves to the ink replacement area. Pinch the tabs on one of the ink cartridge covers (front and back) and lift the cover up. Then pull the cartridge up at an angle towards you. Put the new cartridge in at the same angle. Then close the cartidge cover (it should click). Repeat this for the other cartridge, if needed. Lift up the scanner unit and then lower it down to close the printer. Wait for the printer to do the print head cleaning before sending more jobs to the printer. (It will resume jobs in progress automatically.)If it takes more than 10 minutes to replace the cartridges, the cartridge carrier will return to the home position. Close the scanner unit and then lift it back up. I hope this helps. Cindy Wells

the main problem is with the catridge, if you have check it with other printer and the catridge is working then you have to service your printer , you can try by clean the catrridge carrage with soft cotton . most of the time it work , if not then you have to replace it

Paper Jam:Clear the paper jam.If the printer does not automatically resume printing, press the control panel button.No Paper/ Misfeed:

• The paper cassette may be out of paper or not properly installed.If it is empty, load a new stack of paper into the paper cassette.If there is paper in the paper cassette, make sure it is straight.If the paper is curled, straighten it before printing. Sometimes it is helpful to remove the paper, turn the stack over and put it back in the paper cassette.
• Reduce the amount of paper in the paper cassette, and then try again.
• Make sure you use paper that meets Brother's recommended paper specifications.
• Re-install the paper properly, and then press the control panel button. The printer will start printing again.

Just checking, could that be the passcode (PIN) to access your Router WiFi set up? That could be found on the sticker on the bottom/side of your WiFi Router. I didn't see where the setup procedures from Canon address this.

You have to have the USB cable to do INITIAL setup, should be good to go after that. Here's and instructional video

Try going to the Control Panel and uninstalling the printer. **Make sure you have your printer install disc handy to reinstall BEFORE you uninstall the printer.Then unplug the printer. Insert the disc and reinstall following the discs instructions.
