Hello. You will find that you will want to keep the new lowrance with the new transducer. One of the main reasons is that the new lowrance is high definition. Generally the HDS-5 comes with the 50/200 kHz Transom Transducer with Temp.
If you want to use your M68C with your trolling motor you will need to get a trolling motor transducer. One compatible model is the PDT-WSU Trolling Motor 200 kHz transducer, around 65 bucks.
With that dual set up nothing will get by you! Enjoy! Regards, Joe

Here is the dealer locator, they should have replacement parts.

As for instructions, just start by taking out all screws you find from the unit also look under soft objects and labels for screws, the cover will most likely be hold in place with plastic clips that will snap open with a small flat screwdriver.

I assume your outside of warranty, if your in warranty you don't want to take it apart.

You have something in short circuit in power supply pattern, so filter coils are burnt. It may be voltage regulator, or regulating transistor, electrolytic capacitor or even shorted diode at pwr. input serving to protect in case of inverse polarity applied. Check all for short. Was it reverse polarity or overvoltage occured?

hi the lgc has to be powered also with the nmea cable,red to+,black and shield to-,you also need a 60ohm terminator atached to the short length coming from the y piece,the manual does not state this very clear and lowrance is not much help

you will have to get the required cables and connectors from the radio shack website.

Go to lowrance's website and run through their set up tutorial / instructions for the unit, there is also a software upgrade you can do online for the unit.

One side is hot, the other is ground.

You can download from the website . But your statement is not clear .
Can you post back in detail .

i had someone else diagnose it, IT WAS FREE, and it was a software problem. it was under warranty so i got a brand new one. seems to me a software problem should have been easy to diagnose, took this person all of 2 minutes. thanks for nothing.
