Why cant I download my waypoint data to a 2 GB SD

You can place the SD card into the slot beside the chart card.

With the SD card in the GlobalMap unit by itself (take the chart card out), press MENU twice and choose BROWSE FILES. Does the unit indicate that an SD card is present? If yes, the card is working fine in that slot. Try the same thing in the other slot. If it only recognizes the SD card in one of the slots, the other slot is bad and probably won't work with any card. If the card is recognized in the BROWSE FILES menu, but the data that is on the card is not working, there could be compatibility issues with the data and the GlobalMap 5000.

Make sure the GlobalMap 5000 has the latest software update from http://www.lowrance.com/en/Products/Legacy-Products/GlobalMap-5000C/Downloads/GlobalMap-5000C-Software-Update-180/. You might need to get a different, smaller capacity card since your 2GB is not working.

If the 2GB SD card still isn't recognized in the BROWSE FILES menu after the update, the GlobalMap 5000 is not going to work with that 2GB card. You will want to get a different card. I suggest 1GB and smaller.

If this doesn't help, please let me know some more details. Is the 2GB SD card recognized in the BROWSE FILES menu. What are you seeing that makes you determine it does not recognize this card? What files are currently on this card? What kind of card is it (brand, model).

NO POWER

If your device is not having power, there are 3 factors to be checked. The battery, the charger and the device itself. Run a test on the three factors and you will be able to tell which has the fault and how to solve it.
Insert the battery in another device, then you try to charge it for some time, lets say about 2 hours, then you try to power the device on to see if it will power it on, if it powers it on, then it means your battery is alright. Put it back in the lowrance gps device and power it on.
Then you connect you charger to another device to see if it will charge. If it charges it, then it means the charger is alright but if it does not charge, then it means the charger is bad and need to be replaced with a new one, then you connect the new charger to your device to see if it will charge it and power it on, if it charges and powers it on, then that solves the problem, but if it does not, then you need to test the device itself.
Then you further go ahead to test the device by connecting it to a computer and its normal charger, then it means there is a problem with the connection port of the device is bad or there is an internal problem somewhere.
That should do the job for you.

Hello,

A global positioning system, or GPS, comes pre-programmed with different addresses, points of interests and business . Not every business and location is featured on the GPS. There are three companies that supply information to GPS manufacturers. They are GPS Data Team, InfoUSA and NAVTEQ. You can add your business or location ' listing through their websites.

Instructions

GPS Data Team

  1. 1 Go to http://www.gps-data-team.com/listingstep1.php. GPS datateam.com supplies information to GPS manufacturers including Garmin, TomTom, Route 66, Navman, Nokia and Destinator.
  2. 2 Enter your country information and select what type of GPS systems you want to update. You can select "all popular GPS brands" to reach all of them.
  3. 3 Hit "OK."
  4. 4 Enter your address information. Be sure to add your location name, and phone number. Don't forget to include a description about your location .
  5. 5 Click "OK."
  6. InfoUSA

  11. NAVTEQ
  12. 1 Go to http://mapreporter.navteq.com/ to add your listing to NAVTEQ's database.

  14. 3 Scroll down to bottom of page and click on "add a new item to the map."
  15. 4 Click "add a new POI." This is an acronym for "point of interest."
  16. 5 Enter your business' information, including name, address and phone number. Click "submit and confirm."
This can also be use for business location as well.

My new Endura out&back does

One thing that you need to know that the Fishing Hot Spots cards do not work currently in the Lowrance Endura Out&Back, Safari or Sierra GPS units as these cards are in SD format and the Endura's use microSD format.

A microSD version that will work in the Endura's with full functionality is being worked on.

If your new Endura does not work properly (dept of lake from Navionics...) after being charge (power on and off) you might have gotten a faulty unit. You should exchange it for a new one.

Lowrance Endura-projections other than Lat/Long?

Yes, if you download the newest firmware upgrade version 1.2 it will add in other projections and datums, as well as fix other known issues. I would recommend that you run both the 1.1 and 1.2 upgrade for your Sierra, the 1.1 upgrade will fix some issues with the base map.

Both upgrades can be found at the following location: http://www.lowrance.com/en/Endura/More/

I hope this helps.
