Can you update or download

Your GPS have to be able to power on long enough for you to be able to install any map update. If connected to a computer with the USB cable that came with the unit, most units will draw power through that cable, thereby letting you complete the update. There are also units that either come with wall chargers, or have wall chargers available for purchase. While they are plugged into those chargers you should be able to power the unit up and do your update. You might want to check with the retailer that sold you the unit to see if there is a wall charger available.

GPS Garmin C330 is always searching for satellites

If the GPS device left unused for long time or moved very far without being on, it usually needs very long time star working again. This could be 10 minutes to perhaps 30 minutes. I suggest you put the GPS in an area where there is lots of open skies which is not obscured by tall buildings or large trees for a while. It should eventually start working. If not, try upgrading the firmware from Garmin website.

My unit is not charging when in the cradle

Hello,

Do you notice the power light is activated on your 12v power cable? If it is not first step is to obtain a new power cord and see if it fixes your units issue. If it dosent the unit may be dead, being an older unit i wouldnt recommend sending it in for repair due to the fact that a newer unit would cost less.

Hope this helps!

Fix my sattellites none in me pats

GPS SYSTEMS HAVE A TENDENCY TO LOSE CONNECTIVITY TO SATILLITES BECAUSE OF BAD WEATHER, CLOUD COVER, TUNNEL ENTRANCE, BAD OR NO POWER, BATTERY LIFE HAS BEEN EXPENDED, HAZARD OF ELECTROMAGNETIC INTERFERENCE TO GPS SYSTEMS, AND IMPROPER VEHICLE MOUNTING AND HAND HELD POSITION. FREE SOLUTIONS 1. ALWAYS PLACE YOUR GPS DEVICE IN THE UPPERMOST PORTION OF YOUR VEHICLE SO THAT THE GPS SIGNAL MAY EASILY LOCATE YOUR DEVICE EVEN WHEN THE WEATHER IS BAD 2. KEEP YOUR BATTERY CHARGED ONLY WHEN IT NEEDS IT MOST AND AVOID CHARGING OFTEN 3. IF YOU OVERCHARGE YOUR GPS DEVICE, YOU WILL EXPERIENCE BATTERY LEAKAGE, WHICH CAN EAT AWAY AT YOUR CLOTHING, DESTROY YOUR DEVICE IN SECONDS, AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO YOUR VEHICLE SEATS 4. YOUR GPS DEVICE HAS A TENDENCY TO FREEZE BECAUSE OF THE SIM AND MEMORY CHIPS LOCATED WITHIN IT 5. YOU CAN FIX THE FREEZING PROBLEM BY REMOVING THE SIM CHIP AND MEMORY CHIP AND RESTARTING YOUR SYSTEM 6. OTHER FREEZE PROBLEMS OCCUR BECAUSE THE DEVICE IS COLD WHEN IT IS KEPT IN THE VEHICLE AND CHIP CREEK OCCURS WHERE THE DEVICES MICROCHIPS BECOME LOOSE AND TIGHTEND BECAUSE OF WARM AND COLDER AIR FLUCTUATIONS. IT IS BEST TO KEEP THE DEVICE IN A PURSE OR ON A TABLE WHERE IT IS NOT SUBJECT TO CONSTANT TEMP. CHANGE 7. PREVENTION OF ELECTROMAGNETIC INTERFERENCE IS BEST SOLVED BY: interference from devices located nearby, and even a radio turned on and located really close to your unit. This is normally known as electromagnetic interference to electronics and is very common

No power

Hello, You might check the fuse - it is located in the end of the charger cable. The round end that plugs into your lighter unscrews and you will find a fuse in there. Also try plugging it into a USB port on your computer while it is running to see if that USB cable will charge it. If that does not work I would call tech support for the Unit and see if you can get it fixed or repaired under warranty. Good Luck - Dr. Know

After plugging in the usb

The battery is bad and is not holding a charge that is why the gps goes off as soon as you disconnect it from the computer. Replace the battery and the gps will work perfectly fine once again.
That should do the job. hope this information helped

Updated unit and still acquiring satelites is

If your unit is still acquiring satellite, then it means the signal strength is weak, try to get it outside where it can be facing the sky directly so it will be able to acquire satellite. Once you just update your gps receiver, it seems like it is brand new and when it wants to first acquire satellite, it might take longer to do so. But if it has access to the sky directly, it should take about 3 to 5 minutes to acquire.
If your unit is indoor, it may not acquire satellite, even if it is close to the window, it will not, but if it is outside, then it will acquire faster.
Check if you have any protective coating on your windshield or electronic devices which interfere with the unit from receiving signal from the satellite. Try to see if your gps receiver can use an antenna, then connect one to it and your gps will acquire satellite.
Try to reset your gps first before trying any other solution for the unit.

Try to reset your Garmin street pilot c33o receiver and see if that is helping. The reset procedure is as follows:--- 1)Place your thumb nail in the groove located under the Garmin logo on the face plate. 2) Gently pull off the face plate. 3) Press the reset button. 4) Turn the unit back ON,it will operate normally. --------------- If the reset is not helping then the other possibility can be battery. The battery of the unit is got drained or faulty. If its drained then it can be recharged, but if its faulty then it has to be replaced. ------------ To get replacement battery you can get it from the link below.Click the link:-- http://www.batteryship.com/htmlos/htmlos.cgi/batteryship/catalog.html?item=IA3AB07B1A97&model=Garmin+StreetPilot+C330 Tip: after removing the 4 black screws to separate the case, pull the case off slowly so you can see how the antenna fits into the case. If you do not seat the antenna correctly when reassembling the case, you may not get sufficient satellite reception. ------------ If you are not able to replace the battery and if you require the battery replacing procedure. Please click on the link mentioned below:--- http://www.gpspassion.com/forumsen/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=67938&whichpage=1 --------- This will help.Thanks.Helpmech

I recently purchased a gps that i was told was

If there was a pin in it then it was not new. You have 2 options.
  1. You could bring it back to where you bought it and ask for your money back or a satnav without a pin.
  2. Your other option is to send it to Garmin with proof of ownership, e.g. a receipt, and get them to unlock it.
I'd choose the first. If you decide to send it to garmin you can get their contact details at http://www.garmin.com/garmin/cms/site/us/support/supportcontact
