MY HP officejet Pro 8500 Premium all-in- one printer has an error message, which states that printer is off, even though it's actually on. Please help.
I need to address question 2 before 1.2. If your error message says it is off, or off line try this. Go to control panal. find printers and double click. Find you printer and right click. You should see use printer online. If you do, click. Go back right click on your printer, and click Set as default printer. This should do the trick. If not you will have to give me a little bit more info on the problem.1. Go to control panel. doulbe click on printers, Find your printer , and right click. You shoud she printing preferences. left click. at the top you should see tabs (General, layout advance) some printers have more than those tabs. Click on the General tab. In the body of the box you should see something like print quailty. In that box it shoud have, draft, normal, best, or something equilivant to that. If you click the draft, you documents will print fast. However, if you want something to print in normal mode or best mode, for a particular project, without going back in and changing your preferences. When you start to print, a window should pop up and give you options to change this before you print. (Just for that project). If it does, click on prefrences, and change it to normal or best. you can also change color mode, to black only in this print box if you don't want to waste your color. This will not change your original preferences, it only changes it for that project.
