We are under a winter

The National Weather Service (NWS) has certain criteria for issuing warnings, watches and advisories. They do not issue a warning, watch or advisory if the circumstances are "not" severe enough for them to sound the alarm. If you thinking this is a useless piece of junk, its not. This thing really does work and I have proof. Back in September, our area was under a Flash Food Warning and the weather radio sounded more than once. This meant the conditions we were having were severe enough for the NWS to sound the alarm. Your winter advisory was not severe enough for the NWS to sound the alarm. To find out more about their criteria go to http://www.nws.noaa.gov/nwr/nwrwarn.htm. Hope this sheds some light on your situation.

Radio has constant high pitcs sound when you hit weather button

This is common on some WR100 models. This means ur speaker is blown, and it wont work anymore. Try buying the new WR120, it has a more stable speaker.

I have midland wr-100 weather

Good morning, afternoon, evening or night; whatever time you're reading this. Thank you for choosing FixYa to assist you with your problem. The problem is that you are hearing a high pitch tone coming from the speaker. First check to make sure the weather mode is on. To do this, switch the radio to the right side and make sure the Weather Radio On/Off switch is switched to On. You should also check the alarm to make sure it's not on and set. If the alarm is on, turn it off. Your alert type may also be a cause for this. If your alert type is set on TONE, try changing it to DISPLAY or VOICE. Reply back if you still receive problems. Thank you for choosing FixYa as your one-stop solution spot for your problems. Have a nice day, evening or night; whatever time you are viewing this. Hope this helps and remember our site the next time you need troubleshooting assistance.

Weather radio just gives off high pitch squeal and no weather info.

If you hold the WEATHER/SNOOZE button and the VOLUME UP button, it resets the radio to its deafult factory settings.

I have it set up for my county. I get no voice, just a humming sound

Good morning, afternoon, evening or night; whatever time of day you are viewing this post. I noticed that you didn't state the county that you live in, because some counties have more than one S.A.M.E code, so you will have to go by your region (i.e. Northern Wayne County, Southern Wayne County). Another trick you could try is fiddling with the antenna. You may have to move your radio to another location within your place of residence (i.e. a bedroom, kitchen, home office, etc.). Below is the link to the NWS/NOAA WEATHER/ALL HAZARDS RADIO website where you can get S.A.M.E codes. Just click the link to your state, and a table will be shown listing the code for every county and or region in your state. Good luck and hope this helps. NOAA Weather Radio County Coverage by State

How do I set the time on my First Alert AM/FM Weather Band Radio. Model # FA1160

First make sure that the radio is off (in standby mode). Then press and hold Mode for 2 seconds. (That's the button on the right near the NOAA logo.) You should see the 12/24 Hr option flashing. Press Tune Up or Tune Down to switch this if needed. Then press and release the Mode button. Use the Tune Up/Down buttons to set the current hour; check the AM/PM if in the 12-hour mode. You can press and release the up/down arrows to slowly change the hour. If you hold the button, the hour will advance or reverse rapidly. Press and release Mode when the current hour is reached. Repeat the use the Tune Up/Down buttons to set the hour. Press Mode to exit the clock setting mode. This is shown in the manual which is available here: http://pdf.lowes.com/operatingguides/077283726002_oper.pdf . See pages 8-9 (9-10 of the PDF). I hope this helps. Cindy Wells

My Midland WR100 weather radio

I have been used this Midland weather radio with S.A.M.E alert for last 2 years. My device works perfectly. My radio has sounded whether any tornado warnings and severe thunderstorm warnings. After reading your post you have to face some problems with your device, that during tornado warnings and severe thunderstorm warnings your radio not sounded. If you follow some steps then your issue will be resolved. Carefully review the manual. Or, it is possible that the NWS did not issue a warning for the storm. Warnings are issued for thunderstorms. If a storm is not expected to produce severe weather, a warning with an alert is not issued. Best Weather Radio Reviews Be Prepared For Natural Emergency

Need instructions to reset my Midland weather

On the Midland Weather Radio WR-100 web page of this website, scroll down until you get to the "Manual" heading. There is a link there (WR-100 Weather/RDS Radio Manual); click it and your instructions manual will come up in a .pdf format. To get the frequency channel for Amarillo, go to this website- http://www.nws.noaa.gov/nwr/CntyCov/nwrTX.htm. I do not know what county you live, so you will have to look at every county listing that has your city name in its group. When you find the information you need, insert it into your radio.

Need code for Custer co

Good morning, afternoon, evening or night; whatever time of day you are viewing this post. It would be more helpful if you could name the state you live in. There are 6 Custer Counties in the United States. But since I don't know which specific state you live in, I will give you the links to each of the five of the six states that contain Custer County (Idaho has no NWR coverage). 1. Colorado (http://www.nws.noaa.gov/nwr/coverage/ccov.php?State=CO) 2. Montana (http://www.nws.noaa.gov/nwr/coverage/ccov.php?State=MT) 3. Nebraska (http://www.nws.noaa.gov/nwr/coverage/ccov.php?State=NE) 4. Oklahoma (http://www.nws.noaa.gov/nwr/coverage/ccov.php?State=OK) 5. South Dakota (http://www.nws.noaa.gov/nwr/coverage/ccov.php?State=SD) Hope these help.
