Take your Shaw remote control. Press SETTINGS. Use LEFT/RIGHT to highlight the "house". Press OK. Scroll-down to MESSAGES. Press OK. View a "message" from your cable-TV provider. Click to DELETE the message. The "red-light" will go out.

usually a sticker on the bottom of the box, sometimes on rear. if it is to hard to get at or the sticker is missing try this: 1)turn everything all on as if your watching it 2)locate the d-pad, power button, and select button on the face of the box. 3)push power and right away start mashing select over and over 4)you should end up with a white screen and black text (a kinda debug screen)5)use the d-pad to select #5 unit address and security 6)little over halfway down "host serial #" is your boxes serial number. fyi: you can use the cable remote instead of the buttons on the box.

there is no transformer in the power cord just straight wall power. the dct 6200 does all its power stuff inside the cable box.... thats why there is no "block" on the power cord.

no hard drive in the dct6200 it is not a digital video recorder (dvr) it can do video on demand which kinda streams to you and can pause and rewind and such.... however, it will not pause live tv or record for later playback... hope that clears some confusion

is it running through a reciever? sometimes the reciever makes it feel as if there is a delay. if there is no cable signal when you tune to a channel the box will hang till it times out and says "temp off air" then you can change the channel. hope something here was helpfull leave more details good luck

pull the power at the back of the box or the wall, which ever is more convient. then wait for all the power to bleed out of the capacitors takes a minute or two (we call this a power cycle) hopefully it comes back up. might be time to put it to pasture.

its actually the remote model that matters in this question... well actually both. using RCN cable remotes the code is 002 good luck

HelloConnect an RF coaxial cable wall outlet and the CANLE IN connector in the DCT6200.Connect a DVI cable to to the DVI-D OUT connector on the DCT6200 and the DVI-HD connector on your TV. Now conenction with DTV to TV has been completed.Connect the AV out connection of the DVD wit AV in connection socket at the front of the DTV receiver using an av cable. Connect it according to the colour of AV cable coincides with the socket colours.DVI connector and AV cables are shown here. The three cables [combined] is the AV cable use to connect the dVD with your Coonverter. The single cable with large head is the DVI connector, that should connect to your tV with converter. OK.
