Check the fan connections, one might not be connected right if you have just serviced it. Switching off with a flashing red light usually indicates a fan error. Also is there a sequence to the flashes? e.g, 4 flashes and pause? some manufacturers have a fault code table for the amount of flashes.

Have you connected the USB cable to your laptop so that the Sony remote can act as a mouse? Did the laptop respond by loading drivers?

Do you get video signal before it goes off? Look at the lamp/cover led and see if it blinks.

Be sure the fan is running and the filter is clean. If those are both good, it's probably the thermal sensor. That would require a factory repair.
