First of all dont panic!

it happens to everyone, we have 3 playstation 3's in our house.
basically all it has done is either run out of charge.
or has lost sync with your console.
all you need to do is connect it with the supplied cable and press the ps button.
all 4 lights will flash momenterally and it will re-synch or start charging.

You can only play PS2 games on your PS3 if it is backwords compatible, and the easy way to find out is to see how many USB Ports are in front of the console. If you have 2 USB Ports, no go. If you have 4 USB Ports in front, it is backwords compatiable. Another easy way to find out is if you own a fat PS3 with 4USB Ports you are good to go, just pop the CD in and it will play. If you own a slim PS3, you are out of luck, when Sony intoduced the slim ps3, to save money, they removed the backwords compatible chip from the hardware inside.

If this error message occur when trying to connect network just go to media server settings in your PS3 and disable the streaming media servers

You can try updating by connecting your PS3 to the internet and selecting SETTINGS > SYSTEM UPDATE. If your PS3 is not connected to the internet, you can manually download the update here.You can place this file onto a USB drive to update. Create a folder called PS3 in the drive, then a folder called UPDATE inside that one, place the downloaded file there and insert the drive into your PS3. More info can be found here.

Error Code 80710A06??? Personally I think the network has been hacked. I don't believe any 'Routine maintenance' would take so long. PSN say the network could be down for a couple of days, so It'll be Saturday before we're all hopefully back online.

First you need make sure its off and unplugged completely. Then move it to a clear surface. after that get the suction hose off your vacuum and put it to the vents on both sides and front of your play station 3 and suction th dust out.

make all your connection setting set to auto....ALL of them... before you do that, reset the modem or router first.
