Asus k501

Go to a hardware store. Either that or order a new one online and hope that a guide will be shipped with it. Sorry for the slightly rude answer, but I cannot recommend trying to change your laptop keyboard unless it is either designed for it or having multiple support/technical experience.

Asus k50ij usb boot

Get you favorite bootable ISO image and using "ImageWriter.exe" application (under Windows 7/8) you could "transfer" the ISO to your USB device. In that way, your USB device becomes a bootable device. To boot from a USB device, your laptop should be "equiped" with a proper BIOS. Go to BIOS and change the boot order by having your USB stick already inserted in one of USB port (otherwise, you couldn't select to boot from USB!) Instead of "ImageWriter.exe" application, you could use also "Win32DiskImager". For any of them, google it!

The laptop keeps buzzing and freezing at random times.

The problem may be with the hard drive, sub out the ram one at a time and test each time just to be sure it is not something simple, if there is no change! the hardware is suspect.
