F61 0n diplay system does not work

F61 usually means the amp has detected a short.

Generally speaking, an amp protects itself from heat, shorts and overloads by refusing to turn on or stay on.

Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output or marginally low impedance loading by the speakers; and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.

You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.

If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'naked'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced and competent hands-on tech.

Check for loose speaker connections as a root cause for intermittent shutdown.

F61 error is shown on

Hi,

Welcome to Fixya. This is a common issue with Panasonic Systems. This code is caused by the rear electric fan malfunctioning most probably dust in the fan made it to stop working. All you need to do is to clean the rear fan using a Q tips and it will work fine. If the Fan is bad then you need to replace it but cleaning the fan will resolve the issue.

Dont forget to say thanks. Thanks for using Fixya.

Hello,
The answer is yes. On alot of receivers, you have to go into the setup under speakers and tell the receiver that you have a subwoofer connected. Thats probably the first thing I would check
Good luck

My panasonic sa-ak600 cd player doesn't switch on.

I had the same problem. My unit would turn on, display F61, and turn off. I looked at the manual. It said if you see 'F61', check and correct the Speaker Cords connection. If this does not fix the problem, there is a Power Supply problem. Consult the dealer. Hope this helps.

Panasonic SA-AK600

Try to power on the unit without the speakers connected. If it works normally without the error showing, then a speaker wire maybe shorted or a speaker defective. If the error F61 is still there, then most likely the Regulator IC is defective in the unit.

Disc Tray will not open

The unit will need to be dis assembled and repaired by a technician. One of the plastic gears may be broken or misaligned. If you are mechanically inclined you could attempt the repair yourself but be careful not to loose any of the parts.
