Hello
The main power regulation section inside your TV has some short circuit. The fuse provided in every electronic equipments, are for protection from short circuit, and overvoltage. If a fusw should blow, surely there must be some sort of fault, we must understand. Under normal condition it won't blow out. Therefore, before replacing an other fuse, we must check for the cause for blowing fuse. in your case, now, you have put an other fuse, and the same has blown out with a spark, means the the fault is some sort of dead short circuit inside.
Main cause of this may be either to its rectifier or switching output section. You must have a sound knoledge in electroncis, to locate the fault and to rectify it. Check the recteifier stalk first for short. Check it with a multimeter, set to Ohms range, if found short, replace it with same type and number. Every component that replaces in power section should be of same type and number. Check the smoothing rectifier capacitors for short. There will be a metal oxide veristor, connected across the main power supply rail, after the fuse. Check it for short. it may get shorted, if spikes in power supply occurs, and is a spike protection. At normal condition, its resistance will be very high, in order of MegOhms, but when a voltage spike come accorss it, its resisance will come approximately equal to zero and thus cause the fuse to blow. It is used there as a protecection from electic spikes. When once it has went shorted, it will remain the same, and won't come to normal state. Therefore it should be replaced, if found short. you must have a concept of soldering and soldering equipments, resoldering pump and a good quality digital multimeter.
Never insert a fuse further into it, without the fault retified. It will cause more componets to get damaged. Check these well. If you need anymore assistance, feel free to get me by Fixya. I'm happy to assist you. OK.
