Hello
Five continous blinks of standby light on Sony sets denotes the fault in its [AKB], Automatic Kin Bios circuit. During the fall there must have a break in the printed circuit board, especially on its LOT [Line Output Transformer] side. Just open the TV and check whether the printed circuit board have any cark or any other type of break, whic cause the circuits tracks to open circuted. The above said LOT is a bulky and heavy one, can cause break to that portion, if the fall is hard. Check it. As far as sound is good, its tuner, video IF and most of the other portions are Ok. Just keely check for this trouble I mentioned above. If you need further assistance, feel free to get me through Fixya. Ok.

yes you may need the maual unless the remote has an auto convergence, if you have no manual but can access the convergence menu your goal is to line all the colors up with the diagram
unfortunately yes and the sad part is the bulb is the most exspensive repair for a tv. if you have kids put it in there room or sell it in a yrd sale 40 bucks. to get some money towards a new tv.
Hi, 5 times standby light blink shows incorrect white balance (IK) problem that is related with picture tube. If tv screen remain blank after turning On tv then slightly increase screen volts by turning screen volt control knob located at flyback transformer. You will see 2 knobs, above is Focus and lower is Screen volts. Let me know if problem still not solved to test volts on crt board. Thanks.
Sony master code is 4357, HELP if you look on a phone... enter the code, it will clear your previous code and you will need to set a new one. Hope this helps, best wishes.
We put the tv on channel 3 then ran coax cable from the direct tv box to the tv and the display disappeared. The s-video cable was run from video 1 on the cable box to the video 1 on the tv. So he left the s-video there but by putting the tv on channel 3 and running the coax it fixed the problem.
Get the set checked at a service center. It is possible that a component inside may be bruning up. This could possibly be due to some parts starting to fail.
Try the display button on the remote control. Also pressing the menu button to turn the menu on and off again should extinguish the status display if the display function from the remote is not active. Some models of sets have an exit button on the remote.
It is possible to have a fault in the uPC area or in the circuit area where the font generator is located that can cause the status display to not turn off.
