Tv has a fade colour

It sounds that the screen voltage [G2 voltage] is more than normal. Try it by adjusting the screen control pot-meter. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Pull up older posts.

Standby light flashes green and

Submit the TV to an authorised SONY workshop for a quote and a full assessment of the actual problems. This repair could prove expensive/uneconomical, but it is up to you. The quote (and their second opinion) should help.

Here is a list of the problems that might have occurred indicated by the number of blinks:

* Unit is dead, No blinks = Problem in the standby power section. Might check fuse, R607, Q601, IC601, R612 and VDR601 (should show open).

* Continuous blink once a second, no pausing = No reply from the jungle IC301 (data bus is busy, shorted to ground, or held high), IK video path is defective.

* 1 blink = not used for the self-diagnosis

* 2 blinks = B+ over current protection (OCP), unit goes to the standby mode then displays the 2 blink fault. Could be a short in the power supply of any of the circuits.

* 3 blinks = B+ over voltage protection (OVP), unit goes to the standby mode then displays the 3 blink fault. This is also a problem in the power supply circuit, check T603 and R672.

* 4 blinks = No vertical Deflection (V STOP), Screen goes to a single horizontal line then the video signal muted. Check IC1509, Q1505

* 5 blinks = AKB circuit (automatic kine bias), the timer/standby indicator blinks for about 30 seconds then goes to the self-diagnosis function. Something is wrong with the video. Check video out, Q705, 732, 761 and other components on the C board, also check Q218, 219, 220 on the A board. In addition, unit could be in IK blanking, try turning up screen slightly.

* 6 blinks = No Horizontal (H STOP), no raster, goes to the blinking self-diagnosis function immediately. Check C515 & 516 and the jungle IC, IC206.

* 7 blinks = High voltage shutdown. The high voltage has exceeded 33k and the unit goes immediately into safety shutdown. Check power supply regulation and horizontal circuits.

* 8 blinks = Problem with the audio (AUDIO), unit goes to standby and blinks the self-diagnosis code. Check IC406 audio amp, PS401, and 402. On some projection models of Sony TV sets, this code means that T8005 (flyback transformer), or the associative components in the high voltage circuits are defective on the D board.

* 9 blinks = Replace D 6116 and D 6301 on the "G" board, do not resolder as this will fix the problem temporary. Or Panel Module Error or Thermal Error. If it is intermittent 9 blinks, meaning sometimes the TV comes on and other times you get flashing, then change the switching regulator on the "G" board or check connections. Make sure the regulator is -12 or -13 (negitive).

* 10 blinks = Check Q8014 and Q8013 for shorts, leakage, or bad solder connections on the " D" board. If the transistors are bad, check R8051 and IC8005, also on the "D" board.

I assume the TV has no picture/sound as a result.

Picture is greenish hue and

The greenish hue cannot be adjusted from the menu. One has to do it from inside.First confirm by turning the color settings to zero using the remote. You should get a clean black and white image with no traces of any color ( inc: green ). If your TV is greenish , the green drive on the base of the picture tube has to be trimmed.
All you need is a screwdriver. There are dangerous voltages inside a TV, some as high as 27,000 volts !!!. Where the color adjustment has to be done there are voltages as high as 110 volts and 8000 volts. If you still want to make the adjustments yourself revert back for instructions

I'm having problems with the picture. It

after 4 or 5 yrs EHT ( transformer that supplies voltage to CRT TUBE - TV TUBE ) becomes weak - then 1 of the indication is ....it takes few mins for picture to appear...& in some TVs it will come on & goes off (your case)........so solution is EHT ( also called as flyback transformer ) should be replaced....... {{ few details about EHT---- its size will be around 3inch X 2inch X 2inch ---it will have 2 or 3 knobs to adjust focus , brightness ------ at bottom around 10 pins will be there ------- from EHT 1 thick red colour cable goes to CRT TUBE --------- on EHT its part number will be there }} -------- so if user is a technical person having idea about components ( resistors, transistors, diodes, etc ) , having tools like multimeter ( to check components) , soldering iron, soldering lead, flux, desoldering wig ( for removing components), etc also little experience in servicing field( compulsory) ----------------- then user can remove EHT from main board ---- take to electronic shop ----- buy same type EHT --------- fix to mainboard ( knobs on EHT should be adjusted according to picture --- after switching TV ) ----------iam from bangalore (09986222774, [email protected]) ----- here EHT's price will be around US $ 10 & for my customers (in bangalore) i will take another US $ 12 as sevice charge......i don't have any idea about EHT ' s price & service charge in your place.........since it is very risky job i suggest to contact TV service engineer or sony service centre ------- because they are highly experienced & can fix this component very easily.....

Picture is greenish and redish

Hello

Blue video output section of your Soney tv has failed. It may be due to a open video output transistor or a resistor. Video output section can be located at the picture tube base card itself. in some models, Sony used transistors, and on others they uses IC for this section. Just open your tV, and measure the voltages at the Red, Green and Blue cathode voltages. It should be almost the same to each other. In your tVs case, the voltage at the Blue cathode will be high. Normally it should be due to an open resistor or loose or bad solderings. I advise you to resolder most of the suspected solder points with applying a little more solder, without making any solder bridge shorts in between. Check it out. If this does not help, check Blue output transistor, or if it is an Ic; whatever may be used, for open. If found faulty, replace it with same type and number. OK.

This particular model was shiped

If it is Sony KV-36FS12 model then it has only one color system that is NTSC
This is not compatible for PAL system color signal nor it is multi-system TV that can show all kind of color system picture.
Regarding jumping picture, it is difference of vertical deflection frequency as PAL has 50Hz and NTSC has 60Hz
You can only hook that TV with any NTSC DVD Player to watch movies etc.
Thanks.

36 inch sony TV flat screen

Good day.
Flyback could sometime be a problem but seldom that its the source. Have your circuits be checked first particularly the vertical section. Also, check on the supply of your system IC. there may be some imbalances there.

Response is highly appreciated.
