Sony KV-32HS420 won't come on.
Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. Hdmi instructions
Hi Kelly,
I believe the Sony Trinitron WEGAs do not have an HDMI connection on the back of the TV. If they do it would be labeled as HDMI input below that familiar looking HDMI narrow horizontal connector. But I believe what you have is the RGB connector which looks like three round female connectors which are color coated Red Green and Blue. Now these RGB connectors are a form of high definition but it's not a direct connect for for your HDMI DVD player or your XBOX 360 or what ever you want to hook the TV up to.
You'll have to convert you HDMI to RGB. you can still purchase DVD players with RGB outputs but if you already have a device that requires a TV with HDMI, you can buy a converter. Go to RadioShack or BestBuy or search online for a HDMI to RGB converter cable . It should look something like the picture below.
RED GREEN AND BLUE for video. And then the white and red connectors that are banded together are for your audio.

It does not go on becuase of the standby timer
It sounds that the standby light blinks, and the set do not turn on. These blinks are fault indications. Fromm these number of blinks, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit part inside. Count these blinks. How many occurs at one time switch ON. Count it for at least to times switch on. If you wish to get more details about the blinking codes to Sony TVs,
