Tv Problem
Sony TVs generate an error code. The front panel LED (red) will flash anywhere from one to eight times which can isolate the problem circuit. It is not always accurate.
If you have a test meter which can read DC voltages and resistance in ohms, you can locate the problem area. If you lack the expertice to do so, contact a sony authorized servicer. If you have the ability, start by checking fuses on the "G" board ( power supply board) and the "D" board or deflection board.
A major problem area in this TV is the convergence circuit. There are six fuses around the convergence output ICs on the "D" board.
If any are open, replaces the output ICs.
Tv Problem
How many times does the light blink in between pauses? Also is your model the KP-61HS10 ? Please respond to this same post and I should be able to help you.
Sony kp-61hs10 tv, has sound but picture goes black after 3 min.
I just had the same problem. If your lucky it might be a free 5 minute fix. The five light flashes mean impropper current. I took the front grill off, then behind that is another black cover, I took that off and noticed the circuit boards COVERED in dust. I then took an air can duster and blew off all the dust... works like new. No more flashes and in an out picture. The collection of dust was interfereing with the electrical current.

MY TV KEEPS TURNING ITS
Hi,
When did you replaced lamp last time in tv?
If lamp has not been replaced in last 2-3 years then it seems time to get it replaced to solve the tv problem OR let me know does red standby light blinks when tv shuts off?
Thanks.
Light blinks, no sound or picture
The TV is on protect mode. The TV is forced to standby because a fault had been detected.
Try first leaving the TV power cord unplugged for some times, let say one hour or so.
Also ensure that the fault is not coming from a faulty receiver box sending bad signal, check if you get same problem with no receiver box or dvd connected.
If that does not work, and you keep having a flashing led on front of the TV, and tv turning off by itself after a while, that indicates a fault condition.
The flashing light indicates a diagnostic state called protection.
When the TV goes on protection there are only two possible reasons.
1The internal circuits are jammed because of electrostatic charges accumulating on capacitors, or because of a wrong voltage read by the main chip on your monitor controller board. this started the protection circuit.
2 The protection circuit detected a wrong voltage or abroken contact, identified an internal fault and kicked in , startingthe flashing light.
If you are in situation one, then theTV will reset just unplugging power cord for one or two hours, sometimes even minutes.
If you are in situation 2 , then there is an internal fault.
Common faults that can occur are a blown capacitor on power board, a convergence IC has blown, or a fault on Digital board.
If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual
If you want to repair at your own expenses, just locate any good qualified repairer.
Red light on TV is
That usually means poor emmision on one of the tubes or an EHT fault.
The AKB circuit (automatic kine bias), the
timer/standby indicator blinks for about 30 seconds then goes to the
self-diagnosis function. Something is wrong with the video. Check
video out, Q705, 732, 761 and other components on the C board, also
check Q218, 219, 220 on the A board. In addition, unit could be in IK
blanking, try turning up screen slightly.
Hope that points you in the general direction.
