One question about the problem, if you have a dvd player hooked up to it, when you play a dvd disc, is the picture better than what you get when watching a cable/sat channel?

hello check the resistor in front of the ic also any capacitors near by you will have to desolder 1 end of the resistor so you get a proper reading on the meter

I'm afraid, you are checking 6 times blink error details with another model of TV.
In KP-53HS30 tv, 6 times standby light blinking means +5 volts line got overloaded/ shorted some where. Check A and B board.
Following exploded view shows where is A and B board in TV.
Please download service manual of KP-53HS30 from HERE for free to get correct technical info. This will help you to fix tv issue.

Its nice to save money but unless you know what you are doing and have the right soldering equipment its best to leave this to a pro. you can open your tv and inside there are two large ics labeled STK 392-xxx those are where the problem is , however with sony tvs there are fuses that need to be replaced and possibly some resistors,. have a tv shop repair your tv. The standby/power switch should be flashing in a repeatec count. Please post that count. It is an internal diagnostic that will tell us the problem with the set and thus the actions required to repair it.

KP-53HS30 uses two of the STK-392-560 convergence IC's--if auto focus will not correct one or both are bad--there are also some fuses that protect these parts.

Both chips need to be located (Location numbers in this model are IC8001 and IC8002----they are on identical metal heat sinks side by side.

If depends on if you can do the repair yourself--total parts cost on the internet is less than 25 dollars--you need to be able to get at the chips and also need to be able to unsolder and solder the new ones in--most of the time just the chips need to be replaced---most of these sets have 2 five amp pico fuses on the POWER SUPPLY board that protect them and there may be as many as 5 more fuses on the board with the chips---all are pretty easy to locate and test--like checking any fuse.

My picture screen has double images red,blue,green. The screen looks 3D

I took the back off,took a compressor with high pressure of 80-120 psi,blew out entire componants therowly,cleaned off the lenses,put it back togather,and it stopped!I had a dust problem.Hope it works for you.

There two possible conditions that may of occured.
1. During the move you may of lossened or jarred loose a cable going to the remote receiver unit board.
2. The remote IR Sensor is bad on the receiver board.

I would opt that the first solution is your problem, you can remove the back and the sensor is mounted on top of the picture tubes holding bracket , it is a lone board, also take the lower front panel off the set and check the connectors to the keyboard assembly, if the unit was working fine before the move then something must of make the cable come off or lossen. You might want to clean the sensor while you have it exposed, it small device with a metal frame around it mounted on the board usually facing the screen assemble, or you could take off the screen for easier access.

Is the led blinking? If so how many blinks as thats an error code.

Tries reset all setting in the menu to factory setting u should get the correct colors.Reset all setting,that said reset.

wondreful to hear from you friend. i would like to know if you are having more problems besides the red color. i want to say you need to spruce up your convergence, but i could use more information. does the picture seemsomewhat blurry or does the images double some. if so then i would get me a covergence kit at tvrepairworld.com. if not then i would purchase a fluid change kit at tvrepairkits.com they will send you a kit with downloadable easy to follow instructions. i hope these instructions help. please rate my solution.

its most likley a power supply problem it will have to be trouble shot down to area and repaired
if you have a meter and tools and a bit of knowledge you can do this your self if not then you may want to enlist the help of a local servicer
